Armaan Malik (born 22 July 1995) is an Indian singer and an actor.

He mainly sings in Hindi films, but has also sung in various other Indian languages.

He also sang the title track of the Pakistani film "Jannan".

A finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs (2006), Armaan advanced to eighth place with public votes.

He is the brother of composer Amaal Mallik previously represented by Universal Music India, and now signed on by T-Series.

His first on-screen appearance was in the film Kaccha Limboo in the year 2011.

Early life

Armaan Malik was born in Mumbai on 22 July 1995. His father, Daboo Malik is a music director and composer in Bollywood while his mother, Jyothi Malik belongs to a Telugu-speaking family from Andhra Pradesh.

His grandmother, Bilqis Malik was from Rajasthan, who was sister of Hasrat Jaipuri and his grandfather, Sardar Malik was from Punjab.

Malik began performing at the age of four. In 2006, he took part in the Sa Re Ga Pa L'il Champs, eventually finishing eighth. He began learning Indian classical music for ten years later. Malik made his debut as a kid singer in Bollywood in 2007 with "Bum Bum Bole" in Taare Zameen Par, under the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's musical direction.

In the radio version of Slumdog Millionaire's narrator's Slumdog Khan for the English child, Malik has dubbed for My Name Is Khan for the English boy and has also lent his voice for the character Salim. In the Hindi-language film Jai Ho, he made his debut as a playback singer, singing "Tumko Toh Aana Hi Tha" on his debut as a playback artist. "Love You Till The End (House Mix)" and the title track, "Jai Ho" was also sung by him, were two additional songs in the film. In the song "Love You Till The End" by Malik and his music producer brother Amaal Mallik, it was also included in the beginning of Jai Ho. In the same year, he sang "Naina" with Sona Mohapatra for the film "Ungli" and "Auliya."

He sang "Main Hoon Hero Tera" for Hero, "Kwahishein" for Calendar Girls, and "Tumhe Aapna Ka" for Hate Story 3 in 2015, which his brother Amaal Malik composed. He performed with Neeti Mohan. Also under Baman's direction, he performed "Wajah Tum Ho" in Hate Story 3. D Imaan sang "Yaar Indha Muyalkutti" on his "Yaar Indha Muyalkutti." Under Amaal's direction, he performed a single "Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon" solo. In that year, he was named the Filmfare R. Burman Award for New Music Talent.

Malik appeared in "Mestizaade," Sanam Re, Kapoor & Sons, Azhar, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani, and "Sab Tera" with Shraddha Kapoor for Baaghi under Amaal's direction in 2016. Under Jeet Gannguli's direction, he performed "Foolish Q" for Ki & Ka and performed "Mujhko Barsaat Bana Lo" for Junooniyat, as well as his first Bengali song "Dhitang Dhitang" for Love Express. He was the lead singer of the film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Novel. He performed four songs on the Hindi soundtrack and three songs for the Tamil soundtrack of the film under Amaal's direction. For Force 2 under Amaal's composition, he sang "Sau Asmaan" with Neeti Mohan for Baar Baar Dekho and "Ishaara." For Saansein, he sang "Tum Jo Mille," "Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas Reprise," and "Dil Mein Chupa Remake" and "Wol Mein Chupa Remake" and "Dil Mein Chupa Remake" and "Dil Mein Chupa Remake" and "Wol Hai" and "Doi Jo Mille." Meet Bros and the last two songs were composed, but Tulsi Kumar performed the latter one. With Neeti Mohan, he performed "Pyaar Manga Hain Remake" on a single. Under Amaal's direction, he performed two singles, "Aa Jana Ferrari Mein" and "Paao Na" in 2017. He also performed "Kehta Yeh Pal Remake" in a single form. He appeared on "Haare Ram Remake" and Mannan Shah for "Tere Dil Mein" and "Haare Dil Mein" in Gourav-Roshin. Both of the songs were made for the film Commando 2. He performed for Noor, Chef, and Golmaal Again under Amaal's direction. He performed two songs for Sweetie Weds NRI, 'Shiddhat,' and 'O Saathi.' He was with Arko Pravo Mukherjee for the first time. In 2017, he performed two Bengali songs, "Ele Chupi Chupi" for Amar Aponjon, with Ami Je Ke Tomar and "Ele Chupi Chupi." He has performed for Mubarakan, Tera Intezaar, and Tumhari Sulu.

He performed a single "Ghar Se Nikalte Hi" under Amaal's direction in 2018. Malik appeared on Tanishk Bagchi's first appearance on the Dil Juunglee's title track. He performed "Baadnamiyaan" for Hate Story 4 under Baman's direction (originally composed by Luvdeep Saini). He has appeared in films including Nirdosh, October, and 102 Not Out. He appeared in the films Baazaar and Sanju, which were later dropped from both of the albums. He lent his voice to the Hindi soundtrack of 2.0. A. R. Rahman's soundtrack was composed and released in 2018.

He lent his voice to two songs, including "Jab Se Mera Dil" with Palak Muchhal for the film Why Cheat India, "Kyun Rabba" for the film Badla. On the Indian version of the reality show The Voice, Malik also appeared as a mentor, making him the youngest Indian singer to be a mentor on the show. In De De Pyaar De Pyaar De De Pyaar De De Pyaar De De Pyaar Decomposing by Amaal and written by Kunaal Verma, he sang "Chale Aana." The general audience responded well to the performance. In the Hindi-dubbed version of Disney's Aladdin, a live action remake of the 1992 film Aladdin, Malik played the titular character.

In the Hindi version of the American musical fantasy Aladdin, Malik has also voiced for Mena Massoud as Aladdin. In addition, he has sung the songs in Hindi for the film The Lion King. He performed for Kabir Singh, under the direction of composer Vishal Mishra for the song "Pehla Pyaar." He performed two songs for Yeh Saashiqui, one for films including Article 15, Pranaam, Patni Aur Woh, and Pailwaan's Hindi soundtrack.

Malik signed with Arista Records on March 12, 2020, the first English-language single to be released in the country's first English-language single, "Control" was released on March 20. At the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards, "Control" was named Best Indian Act and was later awarded platinum in India.

Malik was the first artist to reach No. 1 in 2020. Twice on the Top Triller Global Billboard charts. Just a few weeks later, he released his second English single, "How Many," which honors his roots by employing an Indian tabla on the beat. When he started producing songs in English, he found it "quite daunting" to re-introduce" himself to the global music industry, and hopes that more Indian artists will continue to flourish globally.

In 2020, he performed one song on Darbar's Hindi soundtrack, including Khuda Haafiz. In 2021, he lent his voice to one track of Saina, Koi Jaana Na, 99 Songs, Bell Bottom, Thalaivia, Bhoot Police, and Velle.

He appeared on the A.R. Rahman album "Meri Pukaar Suno," released in June 2021 by an ensemble that included K.Chithra, Sadhana Sargam, Shreya Ghoshal, Asees Kaur, Shaasha Tirupati, and Alka Yagnik. Malik's new song, "Barsaat," premiered in September 2021, teaming up with Daboo Malik, Amaal Mallik, Kunaal Vermaa, and Kunaal Vermaa.

Malik collaborated with Arista Records for his latest English song "You" in 2022. He lent his voice to films including Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Major, Ardh. "Nakhrey Nakhrey" and "Rehna Tere Paas" were two of his Hindi songs, which prompted him to record "Rehna Tere Paas." He was also featured on a remix of Ed Sheeran's song 2step (song), which was released on June 7, 2022.
