In 1995 in London, Kojo Funds was born. He is of mixed Ghanaian and Dominican origins. He grew up in Custom House in East London and was raised by his mother.

A number of his songs have been produced by GA, including "Dun Talkin." He had a feature on the Yxng Bane single "Fine Wine" which was awarded silver by the BPI and Mabel's "Finders Keepers" which climbed to number 8 on the UK Official Charts Company Singles chart in early 2017. On February 9, 2018, he performed "Check" with British singer-songwriter Raye.

Best Newcomer at the MOBO Awards in 2017 Kojo Funds was selected for Best Newcomer. In 2018, he appeared at the Bestival and Wireless Festival.

His musical style is described as afroswing. It has also been described as "afro-bashment" in the past. The style emerged in London in the late 2000s; it blends West African and Caribbean sounds with road rap, hip hop, dancehall, and British pop music.
