Anthony Lozano Career

Club career

Lozano, a born in Yoro, made his debut in the Liga Nacional de Fétbol Profesional de Honduras at the age of 15, playing for C.D. On January 11, 2009, Olimpia met Club Deportivo y Social Vida. In the Clausura tournament 6–0 victory over C.D. on February 21, 2010, he scored his first goals, netting a hat-trick. Victoria.

Lozano spent time in August 2010 training with Tottenham Hotspur's reserve team, impressing boss Harry Redknapp. He was expected to remain with the North London team, but the deal was unable to go through because he was underage and, consequently, he was unable to commit to a professional team.

Lozano moved to Spain and signed a one-year contract with Valencia CF, but within days, he was loaned to CD Alcoyano in Segunda División. On September 3rd, he made his official debut against UD Las Palmas as a second-half replacement (1–0 away loss).

Lozano was with Valencia's reserves in Segunda División B. After being released, he rejoined Olimpia, his first club.

Lozano was Olimpia's top scorer in the 2014–15 season, scoring 26 goals in 38 matches. After agreeing to a one-year loan agreement with CD Tenerife, he returned to Spain and its second division on August 6th, 2015; the Player of the Month award for May was extended to his team in May.

FC Barcelona's vice president Osman Madrid announced a deal for Lozano on July 7, 2017, making him the first Honduran to represent the Catalans. He was called to their reserves in division two, and in the first game of the season, he scored once and gave an assist against Real Valladolid (2–1, away).

Lozano signed Girona FC in La Liga on January 30, 2018. He made his debut in the competition 12 days earlier, losing 1–0 away to Sevilla FC and scoring his first goal in the 1–0 away loss and losing by 21 minutes on March 3rd, helping the visitors beat Villarreal CF 2–0.

Lozano was given a direct red card late in their 2–1 home victory over Rayo Vallecano on October 27, 2018. Lozano was seen from behind earlier in the game against Santi Comesa from behind. He scored equalizer against Atlético Madrid on January 9th, knocking out Antoine Griezmann's earlier goal in a 1–1 draw in the first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 matches at the Estadi Montilivi; it was his second competitive goal for the club after struggling to find the ball for almost a year. Girona defeated Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, becoming the fourth player from his country to face the opposition once more.

Lozano was loaned to Cádiz CF of Spain's second class for one year starting on September 1, 2019. In a 2–1 away victory over UD Almera, he scored his first goal for the team this month. He maintained his nineteen until the end of the season, second-best in the squad behind lex Fernández's 13 as his team returned to the top flight after 14 years.

On July 22, 2020, Cádiz exercised their right to buy, and Lozano extended his three-year deal. He scored his only goal in a victory over Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium on October 17th, the first away against that opponent.

In a 3–3 draw at Villarreal on October 26, Lozano scored his first hat-trick in the Spanish first division.

International career

Lozano scored 11 goals for the Honduras under 17s, four in the 2009 CONCACAF Championship, which qualified the national team to the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he netted against Germany in the 3–1 loss. In a friendly victory over Venezuela, he made his senior debut in August 2011 and came as a replacement for Carlo Costly (who scored both goals in the 2–0 win).

Lozano has represented the country at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. In the former tournament, he scored twice, helping the country advance to the semi-finals in Brazil.

Bruno Fernandes cannot return quickly enough for Man United - but Savage impresses

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 7, 2022
Manchester United may have failed in Andalusia on Wednesday night as Cadiz romped to a deserved 4-2 victory, but it wasn't all bad news for Erik ten Hag. With at least ten starters expected from his regular starting lineup returning from the World Cup, the Dutch manager will have known going into the game that he will not be treated to a free-flowing display he may not expect from his regular starting lineup. Despite the scoreline, there were still some players who were able to hold their hands up and demand attention from Ten Hag, as well as others who didn't - and here's a look at what we learned from United's friendly loss in Spain.
