Anthony Green Career

Career

Anthony Green's first band formed in 1997 when he was in high school with classmate and guitarist Tommy Dougherty (Junction 232). Dougherty on guitar and Green on bass and vocals were among the band's original members. Evan Madden was eventually recruited as a drummer. Green wanted to call the band 'Saosin,' but Dougherty and Madden declined to do so. They appeared in a few shows under the name "Audience of One" in 1998 and one show under the name "The Bill Bixby Experience" before settling on the "Audience of One" brand. They wanted to find a new drummer due to Evan's inability to practice and perform shows.

Dougherty and Green replaced bass and guitar roles. J.D. Green met drummer J.D. Foster (Makeshift/Yellow 5) at Days Away's first show in 1998, at which time. Foster tried out and they clicked right away, musically. In the summer of 1999, the band released an album titled, I Remember When This All Means Something At Skylight Studio. On December 3, 1999, it was released on Break Even Records.

Greg Itzen (Days Away/Like Lions), a second guitar player, was welcomed into the band as a second guitarist during the summer of 2000. They're a four-piece team and they've released a four-song demo EP at Skylight Studio. Two of the members went off to college and one was enlisted in the military, and one went off to college. One of Audience's One was deemed "on holdout."

At Skylight Studio, a four-song demo EP for a hardcore/metal project called "Jeer at Rome" was recorded from April 12 to 13. Anthony Green (vocals), Steve Mensick (guitar), Mike Lepone (guitar), Chris Mensick (bass), and Luke Carmen (drums) were among the band's members. During the spring and summer of 2000, they appeared on a few shows, but they soon afterward.

On Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer's self-titled debut album, Anthony performed on seven songs. The recordings were released in early 2002 and were mostly released in 2000 and 2001. Rachel Minton (vocals and keyboards), Anthony Green (vocals and backup vocals), Vince Ratti (guitar and keyboards), Bob Bonocore (vocals and bass), and Rick Delello (drums) were among the band's members at the time. Green and Zolof were laid off in early 2002 due to Green's inability to "work some stuff out" in his personal life. They are also good friends. Ratti and Minton also assisted Anthony with recording vocals for the Saosin instrumental demos, later known as 'The Gift.' Green contributed vocals to the Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer's album "This Was All A Bad Idea" is the product of their collection The Popsicle EP [2004]. Ratti produced Circa Survive's fourth album, "Viviolent Waves," in 2012. Minton also performed backup vocals on the album 'Suicide'.

Green's Skylight Studio in Fairless Hills, PA, produced the majority of the instrument's except for drums and some keyboard parts. Tim Arnold (Days Away/Good Old War) made the drums, while Ratti and Minton tracked some of the keyboard parts. The recording had been posted on the internet since early 2004, but on Photo Finish Records, it was released on August 5, 2008.

Anthony Green (vocals), Beau Burchell (guitar), Justin Shekoski (guitar), Zach Kennedy (bass), and Pat Magrath (drums) made up Saosin's original lineup. In February and March 2003, the band's first album, an EP, was released. Magrath was hired to play drums on the album. The drum parts were largely written by Burchell with Alex Rodriguez in mind. Rodriguez was supposed to play drums for the band Open Hands at the time, but he was not going to play drums. During early rehearsals, Chris Warner was joined on drums. Kennedy resigned from the band due to personal reasons. As bassist, Chris Sorenson took the job. Danny King was the drummer before they started playing shows, but they never did. Rodriguez took over as Saosin's permanent drummer after just a handful of shows.

On June 17, 2003, the band released the EP Translating the Name. It was an immediate underground success and was extremely popular on online forums and music pages. The EP's preorders were released on a separate CD containing two acoustic interpretations of songs from the EP. Translating The Name (2003) has sold 62,000 copies as of 2008. In mid-February 2004, Green left Saosin for Saosin.

Anthony Green will reunite with his former band Saosin for the Skate and Surf festival on May 17, 2014. During 2014, more shows were sold for May, June, and September, totaling eight reunion shows. After the bulk of Circa Survive's fifth album, Descensus has finished, Anthony Green has speculated about recording new material with Saosin. In January 2015, Saosin has confirmed that they would be performing in California and Texas. While on tour, the band's "Silver String" single was released on March 16, 2016.

Green decided to remain with Saosin after the debut of "Silver String," while still retaining his position as lead vocals for Circa Survive and as a solo artist. In May 2016, Epitaph Records released their first LP since 2009, "Along the Shadow." On the Billboard 100 chart, it ranked at #45.

Green was (from 2004-2008) part of another side project with Finch, Rx Bandits, Days Away, and Chiodos under the alias of The Skunk (each member of The Sound of Animals Fighting was equipped with an animal mask to mask their identity and give the band creative inspiration). During their time together, three studio albums were recorded: Tiger and the Duke (2004), Lover, the Lord Has Left Us (2005), and The Ocean and the Sun (2008). In August 2006, they appeared on four television shows of which one was shot for a live DVD called "We Must Be the Change We Want to See (2007). They reunited in March 2014 for a seven show tour and then in February/March 2019 for an eight show tour, playing songs from all three albums.

Immediately after quitting Saosin Green and Colin Frangicetto (This Day Forward), Circa Survive, a Philadelphia-based Circa Survive, which has registered with Equal Vision Records, was born. This new project changed his musical vision from post-hardcore to a more experimental rock sound. Brendan Ekstrom (This Day Forward) was recruited on guitar quite early on. With Nick Beard (Taken) on bass and Stephen Clifford (Reflux) on drums, the lineup was solidified by the end of summer 2004.

They had released The Inuit Sessions, a limited edition tour EP, and Juturna, a full-length album. On Letting Go, their second album, came in May 2007. In August 2008, they parted ways with Equal Vision. On Atlantic Records in April 2010, the band's third album, Blue Sky Noise, was released. On Atlantic Records, they released Appendage, an EP. Violent Waves, their self-produced fourth album, was released on August 28, 2012. Sumerian Records' Descensus was the band's fifth album. The Amulet's sixth album, which was released on September 22, 2017. Both released on Rise Records, with 'A Dream About Love' (October 12, 2021) and "A Dream About Death" being two thematically linked EPs.

L.A.'s August 26, 2022. Past Lives, Dunes' debut album, was announced, as well as the unveiling of their first single, "Permanent Rebellion." Anthony Green, My Chemical Romance's Frank Iero, Coheed and Cambria's Travis Stever, and Tim Payne and Tucker Rule join the band on Thursday. Past Lives is expected to be published on November 11, 2022.
