Early life
She was born in Highland Park, Texas, the niece of Daphne Demar (née Caravageli) and Lawrence Paul "Larry" Harmon, a hospital information network executive in Dallas, Texas. Her father is of German and Irish origins, while her mother is of Greek descent. Harmon discovered that she had a German ancestor who served in George Washington's army during the American Revolutionary War and that an ancestor later purchased property in Mercer County, Kentucky. The land is now owned by a distant cousin of her family.
Personal life
Harmon got engaged to former NFL star Jason Sehorn on March 13, 2000. When Leno called Sehorn out as a surprise guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, she was there as a guest. Sehorn walked up to her, knelt down on one knee, and proposed. They were married on June 9, 2001. They have three children: Finley, Avery, and Emery. Both publicly endorse the Republican Party. Harmon and Sehorn announced their divorce in November 2014 after 13 years of marriage.

Career
Harmon began as a child model and won a Seventeen modeling competition in 1987. She attended Highland Park High School from 1990, when she was a member of the Highland Belles. She won a Spectrum Model Search contest shortly afterward, embarked on a lucrative modeling career, and became well-known in the early 1990s. She appeared on the covers of ELLE, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire as a runway model for Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, and Donna Karan. She is signed with IMG Models in New York City.
After being discovered on a plane by David Hasselhoff, Harmon began acting in 1995. She had a key role in Baywatch Nights and the short-lived C-16: FBI. She appeared in Lawn Dogs, a 1998 film that only had a limited theatrical release.
Harmon became more popular in the late 1990s when she appeared on NBC's Law & Order, starring ADA Abbie Carmichael from 1998 to 2001. Barbara Gordon appeared in the animated film Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, succeeding Stockard Channing in that role during this period. Harmon & Order decided to focus on her film career, saying she preferred working in film to television.
She appeared in Good Advice, a 2001 direct-to-video film, in which she played the CIA handler of a teenage agent (Frankie Muniz). Harmon co-starred with Cuba Gooding Jr. and James Woods in the direct-to-DVD political thriller End Game in 2006 and appeared as Rose in the legendary Western film Seraphim Falls.
Harmon appeared in a Small Town ABC pilot mystery in 2006, but not on television. Inconceivable, NBC's other failed television show, which was also canceled after two episodes. She appeared in another ABC pilot, Women's Murder Club, which aired for thirteen episodes this year. Harmon was one of five actors to stand discreetly nude for the Allure magazine's May 2008 issue, alongside Gabrielle Union, Zoe McLellan, Jill Scott, and Ana Ortiz.
Harmon organized an infomercial for "UpLiv" a stress-management service in 2010, as well as a standout in an Olay "Pro-X" wrinkle cream infomercial.
