Early life
Belknap was born in Damariscott, Maine. She is the niece of David and Louise Belknap's daughter. She attended Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Maine. She became involved in acting while attending Middlebury College in Vermont. She continued her studies at the American Conservatory Theater, receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree.
Personal life
Eric Siegel, a former employee of Rude Mechanicals Theater Company in New York, was married by Belknap in 2004. Olive and George are the two children of two children.
An episode of CSI:NY describes her being bitten by a cobra. During her first pregnancy (which, unlike her second one, was not incorporated into the program), this event was used to reduce her screen time. In an episode where she will testify in a lawsuit to reduce her screen time, she decided to return to Montana. Her second pregnancy was developed into several episodes of season five, where her character has a daughter with husband Danny Messer.
