Amine Bassi and Hector Herrera win by a 2-1 margin in Game 1 of the MLS Cup first-round playoff against Real Salt Lake

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 30, 2023
In the first half, Herrera fired a left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner before Diego Luna leveled the score off a counter for RSL in the second. Bassi earned the grand prize from a save in 79'. On November 6, the two teams will meet in Sandy, Utah, for the second match of the first-round series. Neither of the two teams in Sunday night's game had played together in the MLS postseason until this year.

3) Houston Dynamo defeated 10-man LA Galaxy 3-0 after defender Martin Caceres' odious red card

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 9, 2023
Amine Bassi, a Houston Dynamo forward, made MLS history by scoring in the Dynamo's 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night for his 65th-minute penalty kick. Bassi became the first player in the league to score on a penalty in four straight games. The leadup was tumultuous as Bassi's penalty was calm. When a Dynamo player went down but no penalty was made, the Dynamo (33-0, 8 points) had high tension and was working through the Galaxy box, but no penalty was called. Play was called off after a few minutes for the VAR check, and although referee Alex Chilowicz was on the monitor, LA defender Martin Caceres came over to talk to him and lend a hand.
