Alfred Garca Castillo (born 14 March 1997), a Spanish singer, is a student at the University of Valencia.
He gained national recognition for his participation in series nine of the reality television talent competition Operation Triunfo, where he came in fourth place and also represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, alongside Amaia Romero, who placed in twentieth place.
Early life
Garca was born on March 14th, 1997, in El Prat de Llobregat, Catalonia. At the age of seven, he began formal training in vocals and trombone. Garca is also a self-taught guitarist, drummer, and keyboardist. He underwent musical instruction at the Unió Filharmonia del Prat, which was in Rome. Garca is studying for a degree in audiovisual communication as well as being enrolled in a third year of a higher degree in music and jazz, as well as contemporary music studies at the Taller de Msics, a music school in Barcelona.
Career
Garca's début, a self-produced and self-published album, was released at the age of fifteen. He recorded his first single "She Looks So Beautiful," written by himself and produced by Argentine singer Esteban Garca at the age of seventeen, thanks to the musical project La Capsa. At the Festival Cara B in Barcelona, the single received the Audience Award. A free Christmas Story by Garca has also been released.
Garca appeared on season four of talent show La Voz, the Spanish version of The Voice, in 2016. Garca auditioned for series nine of reality television music competition Operación Triunfo in 2017. He was selected to appear on the show "Academy" on October 23, 2017. He was chosen by public vote to represent Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 alongside his then-girlfriend Amaia Romero on the song "To canción" on January 29, 2018. Garca finished fourth in fourth place at the conclusion of Operation Triunfo 2017 on Friday, February 5th.
Amaia and Alfred were the second pair to compete in the Eurovision final, which was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 12th. They scored 61 points out of a total of 26 participating countries, 43 from the academic juries and 18 from the televote.

Garca's "Los Espabilados" became his first single from his debut studio album and the theme song for Movistar+'s series Alive and Kicking's year-long hiatus on January 15, 2021.
