Alex Turcotte (born February 26, 2001) is an American collegiate ice hockey forward.

Turcotte was voted fifth overall by the Los Angeles Kings as one of the top candidates of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Turcotte has agreed to play college hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the forthcoming season.

Personal life

Turcotte is the son of former NHL forward Alfie Turcotte, who played with the Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, and Washington Capitals. Réal, Turcotte's grandfather, was a member of the Michigan State University, once owned and coached the Nanaimo Islanders of the Western Hockey League, and was involved in running stickhandling camps throughout North America for more than 50 years. Jeff Turcotte's uncle was a member of the Toronto Marlboros of the Ontario Hockey League and is currently the head coach of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings U16 team.

Playing career

Turcotte was selected in the first round, 5th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft on June 21, 2019. Turcotte joined Kings on March 11, 2020, marking an entry-level deal.

Turcotte, along with fellow Kings prospects Akil Thomas, Tyler Madden, Aidan Dudas, and Jacob Ingham, was loaned to Eisbären Berlin of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga on September 22, 2020, with the 2020-21 season postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Turcotte, Turcotte, and Jacob Ingham. However, his loan contract was ended a month later, as there was no date for the DEL season to begin.

Turcotte made his NBA debut against the Vegas Golden Knights on December 28, 2021.
