After leading his team to the playoffs as a senior, he averaged 18 points and nine rebounds and was named TABC All-Regional, All-State, as well as district MVP.

He averaged 8.0 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.02 steals per game over his four-year career, finishing as the school's all-time leader in assists with 649 and steals with 276, surpassing David Edwards in those categories. He led the Aggies to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament as a senior while also earning SEC All-Defensive Team and second-team All-SEC awards.

Professional career

Caruso joined the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2016 NBA Summer League after going undrafted in the 2016 NBA draft. On September 23, 2016, he signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder but was later released on October 17. He was purchased by the Oklahoma City Blues of the NBA Development League on November 3, 2009.

Caruso made his NBA Summer League debut in the 2017 NBA Summer League. After several good games, including one in which Caruso started in place of injured Lonzo Ball and led the Lakers to victory, he was signed to the Lakers' first two-way deal on July 13, 2017. He went from the D-League (now G League) to the NBA via two-way contract. He also helped the Lakers win the 2017 NBA Summer League Championship in Las Vegas. Caruso made his NBA debut against the Los Angeles Clippers on October 19, 2017. In a 108–92 loss, he played 12 minutes, two assists, and one rebound. In a victory over the Clippers in their final game of the season, he had a career-high 15 points and seven rebounds.

After a fruitful appearance in the 2018 NBA Summer League, Caruso signed another two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. In a 99-115 loss to the Denver Nuggets on March 6, 2019, he scored a season-high 15 points, six rebounds, and three assists. In a 122–117 victory over the Clippers on April 5, he scored his first career-high 32 points in a new career-high victory. He was also the only Laker other than LeBron James to post a 30+ point, 10+ rebound, 5+ assist game. Caruso scored 18 points in a 113-109 home win over the Utah Jazz on April 7, 2019, with the Lakers without James for the remaining six games.

Caruso completed his two-year deal with the Lakers on July 6, 2019. When the Lakers defeated the Miami Heat in six games on October 11, 2020, he claimed his first NBA championship with them. The NBA Finals were hosted by Caruso in the clinching game. After the 2020–21 season, he became an unrestricted free agent.

Caruso agreed to a four-year, $37 million deal with the Chicago Bulls on August 10, 2021.

Caruso was fouled by offensive guard Grayson Allen on January 21, 2022, during a 90-94 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Allen was booted from the game. The Bulls reported on Monday that Caruso had fractured right wrist and will have surgery, keeping him out for at least six to eight weeks.

How the French sensation blends with NBA lottery teams is a mystery

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 14, 2023
Victor Wembanyama, France's top export, is poised to replace wine as France's top export, a 7-foot-4 basketball sensation. He's athletic, skilled, vast, and yet only 19, so the winning team will undoubtedly be considered very lucky as the league selects its first pick on Tuesday night in New York. It's either way or not Wembanyama will feel the same way. The 14 teams in Tuesday's lottery aren't all positive, and that's by design. The lottery is supposed to enhance the league's bottom feeders by (slightly) deterring them from tanking their seasons in an attempt to land a top talent in the draft, such as Wembanyama. Mail Online's preview of Wembanyama's 14 future teams, how he'd fit, and what these clubs need to do to attract the NBA's most coveted prospect in a generation.

As they prepare for NBA Paris Game 2023, the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons stars arrive in France

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 16, 2023
Both the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons have touched down in Paris ahead of their regular-season game against the Accor Arena on Thursday, and some celebrities wasted no time in heading straight to the gym. For the first time since January 2020, the NBA returns to Europe this week, when Paris hosted a game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Charlotte Hornets shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic. The Bulls, who have previously won six titles and three-time champions, are due to clash in the French capital this week after being thrown out for NBA Paris Game 2023.
