Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (born 22 August 1967) is a British actor, director, and former fashion model known for his appearances in Suicide Squad's fifth season and Dave Duerson on Lost, Malko.
Early life and education
Akinnuoye-Agbaje was born in Islington, London, to Nigerian parents of Yoruba origin who were students in the United Kingdom. His biological parents introduced him to a white working-class family in Tilbury, Essex, when he was six weeks old. At least ten African children, including Akinnuoye-Agbaje's two sisters, were living in their house at certain times. His foster father worked as a lorry driver and was unable to help the family financially.
When he was eight years old, his biological parents brought him back to Nigeria, but the boy was returned to Tilbury soon after, but he was unable to speak the Yoruba language and was unwilling to assimilate. He was left struggling to reconcile his roots with the distinctive British culture and environment in which he was raised. He was exposed to consistent racial violence in the white neighborhood where he grew up. He earned their respect by standing up to them and then uniting forces with them after constant physical assaults by local skinheads. His birth parents sent him to a boarding school in Surrey, where he eventually attempted suicide before coming to terms with his history and turning his life around.
He went on to obtain his Bachelor's degree from the University of London as a whole, as well as a Master's in Law from the prestigious King's College London. Akinnuoye-Agbaje worked in a clothes store where he was introduced to modelling as a student. he was granted an Honorary PhD by Princess Anne, the University of London's Chancellor, on March 17, 2017.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje lives in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Soka Gakkai International Buddhist association and a Nichiren Buddhist.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje requested to be written off Lost, citing a desire to return to London after his foster parents' deaths and the ability to produce a film there. He is a fan of Arsenal Football Club F.C.
Career
Akinnuoye-Agbaje's modeling career led him to Hollywood, where he began his acting career in Congo in 1995.

Akinnuoye-Agbaje was in talks with Marvel Studios to play the superhero Black Panther in a new film of the same name in 2009. He expressed his excitement over the prospect, saying that "the time is perfect" for a black superhero, and that "now is the time..." in a personal interview. In the fifth season of Game of Thrones, he portrayed the character Malko. Akinnuoye-Abaje stars in Bilal, the lead role of Bilal, in a film about Bilal Ibn Rabah's life that will be released in the second half of the year. In 2016, he co-starred in the DC Comics film Suicide Squad as the Batman villain Killer Croc.
Akinnuoye-Agbaje said in 2012 that he had been producing a film about his life, which he also planned to direct. The film is titled Farming, in reference to Nigerian parents' "farming out" their children to white British families. In May 2017, he announced that casting on the film had begun with Damson Idris as Enitan, neglectful foster mother, and Guguha-Raw as his mentor and mentor. The film went on to win the coveted Michael Powell Award at the Edinburgh Film Festival for Best British Feature and Best Performance in a British Feature for Idris.
