Life and career

Whitney Eve Port was born in Los Angeles to parents Jeffrey and Vicki (née Woskoff). Swarm, her father's clothing store, was owned by her father. Port has a brother Ryan and three sisters Ashley, Paige, and Jade, who were born in a Jewish household.

Port and her co-stars, Spencer and Stephanie Pratt, attended Warner Avenue Elementary School and Crossroads School in Warnerville. She earned a bachelor's degree in gender studies from the University of Southern California in 2007. Port had internships with Women's Wear Daily and W.

MTV created The Hills, a spin-off of Laguna Beach's Real Orange County, in 2006. Lauren Conrad, who appeared on its predecessor, Heidi Montag, and colleagues Audrina Patridge and Port all relived the events of the day. Port and Conrad students under the direction of West Coast Vogue editor Lisa Love, who said the girls had to interview successfully for the positions "regardless of what the cameras wanted." During a live segment for Good Morning America in 2007, Port notably tripped down the stairs. Port was named as the West Coast fashion contributor for Teen Vogue during the third season of The Hills and then left the position in 2008. Port and Conrad began interning with Kelly Cutrone's public relations firm, People's Revolution, later this year. Port declined an invitation to become housemates with Conrad and Patridge, saying she "prefers] to keep some details private."

Port unveiled her first fashion collection, "Whitney Eve," in March 2008. At the end of the fourth season of The Hills, Port moved to New York City to accept an internship with Diane von Fürstenberg. That month, she was hired to appear in The City spin-off series, which also placed emphasis on her boyfriend Jay Lyon, their colleagues Erin Lucas and Adam Senn, as well as her coworker Olivia Palermo. Port severed links with Lyon, clashed with Palermo at the office, and eventually returned to People's Revolution in the first half of the inaugural season. Port's best friend Roxy Olin and Palermo's new co-worker Erin Kaplan replaced Lyon, Lucas, and Senn with underwhelming ratings in the second half of the first season. The show's second season saw the growth of "Whitney Eve" and its final episode aired in July 2010 before being officially cancelled in October.

Port appeared on the television show Hollywood Is Like High School with Money in late 2010, for which she served as the executive producer. In addition, the campaign served as a marketing platform for her "Whitney Eve" collection. Port was featured in a Maxim magazine spread in January 2011. Port's first book, True Whit: a Life of Style, Beauty, and Fun, was published in February. Genuine Ken, a Hulu-exclusive game show, aired later this year.

Port was accepted into the judging panel of the eighth cycle of Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model, alongside fellow new hire Tyson Beckford and returning judges Elle Macpherson and Julien MacDonald. At the end of the season, she left the program. Port appeared in the film What To Expect When You're Expecting, starring Jennifer Lopez.

MTV announced The Hills: New Beginnings, a MTV Video Music Awards competition, which is set to premiere in 2019. Port was revealed as part of the new series's cast. Port started a YouTube channel in 2012 to promote the introduction of her fashion line, which then followed her life as a wife and mother. Since 2019, it has mainly been a reaction channel for Port and her husband's appearances on The Hills: New Beginnings, The City, and The Hills. In August 2019, Port also launched "With Whit," in collaboration with Dear Media.

Port and her husband's reaction videos to The Hills and other similar shows have continued on YouTube as of 2021. In June 2021, she first introduced CozeCo, her latest clothing collection.
