He defeated Duke Durrango in the Stampede British Commonwealth Mid-Heavyweight Championship on October 15, 2004. Wilson and Durrango were appointed the bookers for Stampede Wrestling in October 2005. Wilson deleted one-half of the Tag Team Champions Pete Wilson, who was injured, and became Juggernaut's tag team partner on November 10, 2006. Wilson was defeated by his longtime rival Apocalypse in his final singles match for Stampede on January 26, 2007. He returned on February 9, 2007, with his final match against The A-Team defending his International Tag Team Championship (Michael Avery and Dusty Adonis). Although he was in Europe, he competed in various nations, such as Germany and the Netherlands, but also in other European countries, such as Germany and the Netherlands. He faced GSW Breakthrough Champions Murat Bosporus for the title, but lost.

Wilson spent a long time in Canada with the AWA Superstars of Wrestling. He and Harry Smith teamed up with Harry Smith to compete in the Grapple Cup Tournament, where they defeated Cadillac Caliss and WildCard in the finals. He defeated Harry Smith in the AWA Pinnacle Heavyweight Championship in 2006 and held it for five months before losing it to Laramie Lexow.

They took the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship on October 30, but they lost it to Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis on December 11, 2008 at the FCW television taping.

Wilson made his WWE debut on February 10, 2009, under the name Tyson Kidd, defeating Bao Nganyen, a local wrestler, and establishing himself as heel. Even if Natalya was directing Kidd on ECW, she was still a SmackDown employee before being sent to ECW as part of the 2009 Supplemental Draft to join Kidd. On May 5 edition of ECW, Kidd defeated Fit Finlay, defeating ECW by ECW in its April 28 version. Evan Bourne was defeated by Boyd. Kidd's match with Finlay was interrupted by DH Smith, now using the name David Hart Smith, who tried Finlay to help Kidd. The Hart Trilogy, created by Kidd, Smith and Neidhart, was later renamed The Hart Dynasty on the May 26 ECW. Jack Swagger & David Hart Smith defeated Tommy Dreamer & Christian in a 3 on 2 handicap match on May 26, ECW, Kidd. On the June 2nd edition of ECW, Kidd lost to Christian. The Hart Dynasty defeated Christian & Jack Swagger on the ECW's June 9 edition. Kidd lost in Kidd's last match as part of the ECW roster on June 23.

The Hart Dynasty brand was renamed to SmackDown on June 29, becoming the SmackDown brand. They started a tumultuous rivalry with Cryme Tyme in July and the feud came to an end in October. Kidd and Smith defeated Team Raw in a seven-on-seven tag match with Chris Jericho, Kane, Finlay, Matt Hardy, and R-Truth as Team SmackDown defeated Team Raw in October at the Bragging Rights pay-per-view. On the December 25 SmackDown against D-Generation X, the Hart Dynasty had a title match for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, but were disqualified. On the January 22, 2010 SmackDown, they started a feud with Matt Hardy and The Great Khali. With each team winning against each other, the feud came to an end.

The Hart Dynasty came to WrestleMania XXVI, supporting Bret Hart during his match against Vince McMahon, and the Miz dominated WWE Tag Team Champions ShoMiz (Unified WWE Tag Team Champions ShoMiz) on Raw, beating them on a non-title match after The Miz insulted Hart. They won a Unified Tag Team Championship match at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view by defeating ShoMiz in a tag team gauntlet tournament (which also included John Morrison and R-Truth's team and Montel Vontavious Porter and Mark Henry). When Kidd made The Miz submit to the Sharpshooter at the 2010 WWE Draft, the Hart Dynasty, joined by Natalya and Hart, defeated ShoMiz to win the Unified Tag Team Championship.

As part of the Supplemental Draft, all three members of The Hart Dynasty were relocated to the Raw brand the following day. He defeated The Miz to earn Bret Hart a match for The Miz' WWE United States Championship, and the Hart Dynasty helped Hart to win the championship the following week. They retained the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship against Chris Jericho and The Miz, which was over the limit. After a match, they were attacked by debuting pair The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) and Tamina Snuka, sparking a feud between the two teams. They defeated The Usos and Tamina in a six-person mixed tag team match at Fatal 4-Way, while Natalya pinned Tamina, and Smith and Kidd defeated The Usos at Money in the Bank to keep the title. In a Tag Team Turmoil match involving The Usos, Vladimir Kozlov and Drew McIntyre, as well as Evan Bourne and Mark Henry, The Hart Dynasty lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

Kidd and DH Smith started to fail out of one another after a failed attempt to regain the title in which Kidd was pushed off balance during their double-team Hart Attack mission. Kidd turned heel once more on the November 15 episode of Raw after refusing to tag in and striking Smith during a match for the WWE Tag Team Championship against The Nexus (Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater). Kidd was defeated in a King of the Ring qualifier match the following week, but was dissatisfied. Kidd lost in a singles match to Smith on December 2nd. Smith gave Smith a handshake but Kidd slapped Smith instead. Kidd defeated Smith in a rematch on the next Raw, during which he was accompanied by a bodyguard and later revealed as Jackson Andrews. After Mark Henry's finisher, the World's Best Slam on Andrews, Andrews ceased to appear as Kidd's bodyguard on Andrews, he quit being Kidd's bodyguard on August 27 Raw.

Kidd was a competitor in the Rumble match where he was disqualified by John Cena at the Royal Rumble. Kidd was a participant in a twenty-three-man battle royal dark match that was dominated by The Great Khali at WrestleMania XXVII. Kidd returned to the SmackDown brand as part of the 2011 supplement draft on April 26, 2011. On the May 6 SmackDown, he had his first match back for the brand, but lost to Sin Cara. When Kidd defeated Trent Barta on May 12, he debuted Michael Hayes as his boss. However, their friendship was short-lived, as Hayes slapped Kidd after Kidd lost to Yoshi Tatsu on the following Superstars. Kidd was supervised by Armando Estrada and Matt Striker on May 26 and June 2 episodes of Superstars respectively, and Kidd defeated Barta on both directions. Kidd appeared as his fourth boss in as many weeks on the June 9 Superstars, but lost to Yoshi Tatsu. Kidd was given yet another manager in JTG, this time to Kane.

On NXT Redemption, Lucky Cannon's Pro on NXT Redemption was kidd. On the third Rookie eliminated, Cannon was banned from the NXT on June 14th, the third Rookie eliminated. Kidd shaved off his signature tuft of hair a week later. On NXT, the kidd later feuded with Yoshi Tatsu, resulting from a backstage altercation when Kidd smashed Tatsu's toy figurine of himself and stole the leg off another. The pair traded victories over a string of matches, and Tatsu claimed the stolen figurine leg back by winning a Necklace on a Pole match on July 26 NXT. Kidd assaulted Tatsu's right leg during the match, but Kidd announced that there will be no more Yoshi Tatsu in WWE a week later. Tatsu returned more than a month later on the September 6 NXT to defeat Kidd and bring an end to the feud. Kidd appeared in the biggest Battle Royal in history, where the champion will have a title shot but not be able to win.

For the first time since 2010, Kidd took a face turn in January 2012. Kidd suggested that the team be tagged together after losing to Trent Barreta twice on NXT. Kidd launched a feud with Michael McGillicutty in late February 2012 after McGillicutty mocked his lack of wrestling roots. On the NXT's February 29th, the kidd then lost to McGillicutty. Kidd won't be a true 'Hart,' after McGillicutty insulted Kidd that he would never be a true 'Hart', where Kidd defeated McGillicutty to even up the score at one win each. Kidd and McGillicutty met in a third match on the April 11 NXT, resulting in Kidd winning over McGillicutty. Kidd showcased his singles dominance in NXT by defeating Johnny Curtis on April 25, then defeated McGillicutty and Derrick Bateman in a triple threat match on May 16.

Kidd met Justin Gabriel on March 29 but lost the match, after the pair showed mutual respect and agreed to form a tag team to face Primo & Epico in a dark Triple Threat tag team match for WrestleMania XXVIII that also includes The Usos. Primo & Epico won the match but lost their position, but they were ultimately dissatisfied. Gabriel overextended and twisted his elbow during the game, effectively ending his involvement for several weeks. Kidd was enrolled in a 20-man battle royal with the winner receiving a choice of a United States or Intercontinental Championship match, but was disqualified by David Otunga at Over the Limits. On the June 6 NXT Redemption, the kidd reunited with Gabriel, where they defeated Johnny Curtis and Heath Slater in the duo. At the Palace in Las Vegas, Tyson also defeated PAC. Kidd and Gabriel were defeated by The Prime Time Players (Titus O'Neil and Darren Young) in a top-one contender Fatal Four-Way tag team match, which also involved Primo & Epico and The Usos at No Way Out pay-per-view.

Kidd qualified for the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank ladder match on June 29. After Kidd pinned him in 19 seconds on the July 2 Raw, Tensai sparked a feud with Kidd, causing Tensai to assault Kidd in post-match attacks. Dolph Ziggler was the winner of Kidd's ladder competition at Money in the Bank. Kidd lost to Tensai on July 30 Raw, but the referee changed his call and gave Kidd the win after Tensai continued to threaten Kidd after the match.

On the Night of Champions' pre-show on September 16, Kidd was the top Contender Battle Royal for a shot at the United States Championship, where he was ruled out by Tensai. Kidd and Gabriel then participated in a series of tag team matches against Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks, winning every match. Kidd and Gabriel, the official home of the National Air Strike, lost in the quarter-finals of a tournament on October 3rd and Zack Ryder to determine the number one contenders to the tag team championship. Antonio Cesaro was defeated by the WWE United States Championship on October 31. Kidd was victive in a 10 man elimination tag team match with Justin Gabriel, Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, and Brodus Clay against Titus O' Neil, Darren Young, Primo, Epico, and Tensai, with Kidd winning O'Neil and Epico at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. Kidd tore his knee meniscus in January 2013 and was expected to require a 6–12 month absence to recover. Despite his injury, Kidd appeared on the "Bret Hart Appreciation Night" parade on May 27.

He returned to television on the October 11 SmackDown as part of El Local's tag team with El Local (Ricardo Rodriguez) after losing to Los Matadores under a mask to mask his identity. On November 4, an unidentified Kidd returned to Raw, teaming with his wife Natalya over Fandango and Summer Rae. Kidd returned to action against Fandango, Jack Swagger, and former partner Justin Gabriel on Main Event and Superstars for the remainder of 2013. Kidd was in the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, which was dominated by Cesaro at Wrestlemania XXXX.

Following his return from injury, Kidd began appearing on NXT, WWE's current developmental branch. In December 2013, he began a winning streak in NXT, including victories over Leo Kruger and Mason Ryan. Kidd defeated Bo Dallas on May 1 of NXT's May 1 episode. Kidd appeared in a 20-man battle royal for an NXT Championship shot on May 8, 2014, with him being involved in a three-way tie. Kidd defeated Tyler Breeze and Sami Zayn in a triple-threat match on the next episode of NXT, where Kidd defeated him to become the top contender in a match at NXT TakeOver. Kidd failed to win the championship against Adrian Neville at TakeOver. Kidd defeated Adrian Neville in a rematch for the NXT Title on June 12, but he was unable to win the title due to a miscommunication from Natalya. Kidd and Sami Zayn teamed up with Sami Zayn to challenge The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Championship on June 19 in the middle of the match, turning heel for the first time since 2012. This is not NXT Takeover: Fatal 4-Way Kidd competed in a NXT Championship match that was safely retained by Adrian Neville.

Kidd began to win more key roster games in late September 2014, while Natalya, scoring victories on Main Event and Superstars over the likes of Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, R-Reality, and Sin Cara. Kidd's storyline tensions with Natalya were high at times, and at others, Kidd was using Natalya as a human shield or threatening her to unlawfully interfere in his matches. Kidd won another match on November 3 in a non-title match against Sheamus of the United States, this time by counting out. Kidd was given a title run for the WWE Intercontinental Championship in an elimination match against Cesaro and defending champion Dolph Ziggler on November 14 of SmackDown, but he was dissatisfied.

On the December 1 episode of Raw, Kidd and Cesaro were suspended from a gauntlet match for a tag title shot by The Usos, and they became a tag team. They gained victories over Los Matadores and then went on to associate with Adam Rose in a feud against The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods) in January. Kidd and Cesaro defeated The New Day on the Royal Rumble pre-show. Kidd reached the Rumble match at number 12 later that night, but Daniel Bryan had him disqualified. Kidd and Cesaro defeated The Usos on February 22, the first person to win the WWE Tag Team Championship, a trophy he hadn't held for nearly five years. After Natalya caused a disqualification, the two teams retained their title in a rematch on Raw the next night. In a match that featured three other teams, Kidd and Cesaro maintained their positions on the WrestleMania 31 pre-show. Kidd was also competing in the André the Giant memorial exhibition but was disqualified by Mark Henry. Kidd and Cesaro reignited their feud against The New Day, where a double turn took place; Kidd and Cesaro turned into babyfaces by displaying a fighting spirit; Meanwhile, The New Day turned heel by using underhanded tactics during their matches. Kidd and Cesaro of Extreme Rules lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston), bringing their reign to a conclusion of nine weeks. On the 30th episode of SmackDown and Payback in a 2-out-of-3 falls match, they failed to regain their titles, with Xavier Woods interfering in both matches. Kidd and Cesaro were both in the first tag team Elimination Chamber match, but they were unable to win the championships. This was his last WWE televised match.

During a dark match on Raw on June 1, 2015, Kidd sustained a spinal cord injury after Samoa Joe's "Muscle Buster" finishing maneuver. WWE confirmed that he would be out of action for more than a year. Only 5% of people recover from his injury, according to Kidd, who had 16 staples, four screws, and a rod insert in his neck. "It's amazing that Tyson Kidd recovered as well as he did," journalist Dave Meltzer said, noting Christopher Reeve's injury.

Kidd was hired as a producer full-time for WWE on June 29, 2017, putting an end to his wrestling career. Kidd has been moved to the alumni section of WWE's website.
