Career
Campos was a member of the original Static-X line, playing bass and backing vocals on all of the group's studio albums. Even though he did not participate in the band's temporary reunion from 2012–2013, he, along with Wayne Static, was one of the Static-X brand's legitimate owners.
Campos broke his collarbone in a motorcycle collision in 2001, leaving him unable to participate in the upcoming "Extreme Steel Tour." On tour, the Campos continued to perform backing vocals, and Marty O'Brien took over bass duties.
Campos became a member of Asesino, Mexico's national metal group. "Maldito X" is the Spanish word for "Damned X" on his stage. He performed bass with Agony in the Colombian band Agony at the Rock al Parque earlier this year.
Following Paul Raven's death, Campos has played bass for Ministry in four stints (2007–2008, 2011–2012, 2014–2020, 2017–2019). In fall 2017, he has rejoined Ministry for their US tour with Death Grips.
He appeared in the death metal band Possessed from 2011 to 2012. In 2013, Possessed met him in The Oakland Metro.
In 2011, he joined Soulfly as their bassist.
Campos announced his exile from Soulfly in May 2015 and that he would join Fear Factory as their bassist.
Campos and the two remaining original members, guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay, had reformed Static-X, who planned to release a new album and tour in 2019 in honor of Wayne Static, who died on October 23, 2018.
