Thomas Mitchell Sherak (June 22, 1945 – January 28, 2014) was an American actor and producer who served as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences from 2009 to 2010 and re-elected for a second term in August 2010. * On September 26, 2013, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garca announced Tom Sherak as the head of the newly formed Mayor's Entertainment Industry and Production Office. Sherak died of prostate cancer in Calabasas, California, on January 28, 2014. * He was 68 and buried in Mount Sinai Simi Valley.
