Tom Meighan Career

Career

Meighan became the lead vocalist of Kasabian at the band's inception in Leicester in 1997. On the majority of the band's albums, he has sung lead vocals, has a baritone vocal range, and did not play any instruments within the band except for tambourine and guitar on live versions of "The Nightworkers" and "Test Transmission."

Meighan has also appeared in the songs "Viva La Revolution" by Superevolver and "Ghosts on Crusade," as well as the Lysergic Suite's "Ghosts on Crusade." He appeared on the Dark Horses' "Count Me In" album, which he performed with the band when they opened for Kasabian on the West Ryder tour. In addition, he appeared backing vocals on the Jersey Budd track "She Came Back." Meighan has appeared onstage with the Zak Starkey's band Penguinsrising.

Meighan initiated Mic Rockers, a hip hop/rock collaboration that began in 2013. On November 13, 2013, the first video from the duo "Mic Rockers" was released. He was named the 19th-best frontman of all time by a Q magazine readers' poll and the 13th-best frontman of all time by a 2012 Xfm listeners' poll.

Meighan appeared in early 2011 as Terry Graham in the sitcom pilot Walk Like a Panther. He had previously declined bids to appear in Marie Antoinette due to being pledged to Kasabian.

Meighan's resignation from Kasabian was revealed by mutual consent on July 6, 2020, citing personal reasons. On April 9, 2020, he confessed to assaulting his ex-fiancée the next day.

Meighan revealed in October 2020 that he was working on solo projects. On his Instagram account a year later, he posted a snippet of a song called "Would You Mind" claiming that the song was about "asking for support when you need it the most, but can't find the courage to ask." He also announced that he had recorded several songs that were "ready to be shared." "Would You Mind" was released as a free download on October 31st 2021.

ADRIAN THRILLS: Lean and mean Kasabian - Band rediscover their mojo with 29-minute album

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 5, 2024
Taking its cue from a classic punk LP, The Ramones' self-titled debut, Happenings lasts a shade under 29 minutes, pipping The Ramones by seconds in terms of lean, clean economy. A penchant for punchy dance-pop - and the brevity of punk - is obvious from the off. An instrumental prelude leads into the catchy Darkest Lullaby, which advocates searching for relief from any romantic woes by 'forgetting the pain' and heading to the disco, a move reinforced by the equally infectious Coming Back To Me Good.

Despite backlash from supporters, High Flying Birds' Noel Gallagher is aided in Birmingham by former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan

Despite backlash from fans, Noel Gallagher's band High Flying Birds was backed by former Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan in Birmingham on Friday. After being found guilty of assaulting his now wife Vikki Ager in 2020, Tom, 42, was kicked from his band. In August, Noel, 56, came under fire from ticket-holders to his shows, with some devotees arguing that if Tom was the support act, they would not be going to the concerts.

The tree in North Yorkshire has an eerie similarity to a Britpop legend, but can YOU guess who it is?

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 14, 2023
After spotting a tree that looked like a spitting image of a Britpop legend, a dog walker in North Yorkshire was left stunned. In one of their trademark hoodies, the rocker's most prominent features were visible in the trunk and even shrouded. With recent rumors of a reunion, the icon in question sold over 7 million albums as part of one of the UK's most well-known bands.
