Thomas Peter Meighan (born 11 January 1981) is an English musician best known for his role as the lead vocalist for the rock band Kasabian.
Early life
Thomas Meighan was born in Blaby, Leicestershire, on January 11, 1981, the son of Irish window cleaner Tom Meighan Sr. and nurse Patricia Meighan. He attended Countesthorpe Community College. He took Art and English Literature at college but was ungraded for several other examinations after failing to enroll in them. He loved music from Motown to hip hop, and he sang Cypress Hill songs during his youth. "It was a very musical house with Motown and a lot of soul music," he said. That's what I grew up on. Meighan became the lead vocalist of Kasabian at the band's inception in Leicester in 1997.
