Music career
He was the lead singer of Zach Williams & The Revival, an American rock band formed in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in 2007 by Zach Williams (acoustic guitar, harmonica, and vocals), Red Dennon (bass guitar, and vocals), Robby Rigsbee (slide guitar, and vocals), and Evan Wilons (drums). The band emerged from the desire to restore or revive the southern rock sound. In 2009 and A Southern Offering in 2011, the band released two independent albums, Electric Revival in 2009 and A Southern Offering in 2011. Williams disbanded the Reformation in 2012 due to his nascent Christian convictions.
Williams and guitarist Robby Rigsbee dedicated their lives to Christ and started playing music in their church after Zach Williams and the Reformation disbanded. The Brothers of Grace, a church band, became Zach Williams and the Brothers of Grace. Shaun Kirby, a member of southern rock band Further Down with Rigsbee, was the drummer. Bruce Ford (bass) and Kevin Rouse (keyboard) were among the group's keyboard members. In 2014, the pair "Shine a Light" EP was released independently.
Williams signed to Provident Label Group - Essential Records as a solo artist in 2016, four years after Zach Williams & The Reformation disbanded. In 2016, he released his first solo album, "Chain Breaker," which debuted at No. 1 on the charts. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs Chart and the Top 10 on Christian radio. Following the single, Williams released Chain Breaker, a five-song EP with producers Jonathan Smith and Colby Wedgeworth. Williams also led worship at the Refuge Campus of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where he served from 2014 to 2017.
Williams digitally released Chain Breaker, his full-length album, on December 14, 2016 and revealed a release date of January 27, 2017.
Williams' second album, Rescue Story, was released on October 4, 2019. It features Dolly Parton's single, "There Was Jesus."
