Timothy Bottoms Life

Timothy James Bottoms (born August 30, 1951) is an American actor and film director.

He is best known for his role in Johnny Got His Gun, but Sonny Crawford, as he and his co-stars, Cybill Shepherd, and Jeff Bridges, came to fame in The Last Picture Show, where he and his co-stars, James Hart, the first-year law student who fights with Prof. Jeremy Shepherd.

Kingsfield appeared in the film version The Paper Chase, as well as on the sitcom That's My Bush, which includes playing President George W. Bush several times. And in the comedy film The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course and the docudrama DC 9/11: Time of Disaster.

Early life

Bottoms was born in Santa Barbara, California, as the eldest of four sons of Betty (née Chapman) and James "Bud" Bottoms, a sculptor and art teacher.

He graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1970, where he had been a member of the swimming team. He gained acting and singing experience in a variety of theater productions during his time there.

Personal life

He is Joseph Bottoms (born 1954), Sam Bottoms (1955–2008), and Ben Bottoms (born 1960). Bottoms toured Europe in 1967 as part of the Santa Barbara Madrigal Society.

In 2008, Sam Bottoms died of brain cancer. Sam was the only sibling near to Timothy at one point.

Bottoms has married twice, first to actress Alicia Cory in 1975 and then to singer Alicia Cory. Before divorcing in 1982, they had a son, Bartholomew. Bodie, Bridget, and Benton were three children born as a result of his marriage to Marcia Moreheart in 1984.

Joe Bonham appeared in Dalton Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun in 1971. In the same year, he appeared alongside his brother Sam in The Last Picture Show. (In the 1990 sequel Texasville, he played the same role.) He appeared in The Paper Chase in 1973 as Harvard law student Hart in the face of befright Professor Kingsfield (John Houseman). Love and Pain (1973), The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder (1975), A Small Town in Texas (1976), and Elephant (2004) are among the other films he has appeared in.

Bottoms has portrayed Bush in three separate films, owing to both physical appearance and the ability to impersonate his voice. In 2000 and 2001, he appeared in a parody of Bush in the comedy Central sitcom That's My Bush. He later appeared in the family film The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course as Bush; Bottoms once more played Bush, this time in a serious sense, in the television film DC 9/11: Time of Defamation, one of the first films to be based on the September 11 attacks.

Bottoms is seen as the fright principal on an episode of the Fox television show That '70s Show in which a tornado warning has been issued and the students of the high school have been trapped. Gibson Horne, the magazine that series main character Lucy Spiller worked for, appeared in a recurring role during the first season of FX's Dirt as Gibson Horne.

He also co-produced The Times of Peter Bogdanovich (1991), a behind-the-scenes film about the film's making. The Last Picture Show and Texasville. He confessed to having a crush on his co-star Cybill Shepherd during The Last Picture Show, but she did not share his romantic feelings, even though she said in a separate interview that she finds him "very attractive." In addition, he was heavily featured in the Metallica film "One," which also included a video of Johnny Got His Gun.
