Thomas Aiden Turgoose (born 11 February 1992) is an English actor best known for his role in the film This Is England '86 (2010) and This Is England '90 (2015), as Shaun Fields, who appears in the film This Is England film series This Is England.
Personal life
Turgoose is a fan of Grimsby Town, though he admits that as a youth he voted Manchester United and is a season ticket holder at his hometown club. He interviewed football manager Paul Hurst, club captain Craig Disley, and striker Lenell John-Lewis for Football Focus, a television show aimed at Grimsby Town in the Conference Premier Play-off final against Bristol Rovers on May 16, 2015.
Career
He played Shaun Fields, the lead character in This Is England, written and directed by Shane Meadows in his first film role in 2006. In the 2006 BBC drama series The Innocence Project, he portrayed Dizzy, a young boy mentored by Adam Solomons (Luke Treadaway). Due to poor ratings and poor feedback, the show was scrapped after eight episodes. In six of the eight episodes, Turgoose's story was present. In 2008, he appeared in Somers Town, a Shane Meadows film in which he co-starred in a comedy role with young Polish actor Piotr Jagiello. At the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, the young actors received the "Best Actor in a Narrative Feature" award. He was also in The Scouting Book for Boys, and appeared in This Is England '86, a Channel 4 television series focusing on characters from This Is England three years ago. He appeared in three-part series This Is England '88, a year ago, and also appeared in This Is England '90, which aired in 2015.
He appeared on Pointless Celebrities, where he was paired with fellow actor Vas Blackwood. He made his second appearance on Pointless Celebrities on Saturday, where he was paired with Tyger Drew-Honey. Turgoose appeared in the Season 7 premiere of HBO's Game of Thrones as a Lannister soldier.
