Tammy Cochran (born January 30, 1972) is an American country music artist.
Signed to Epic Records Nashville in 2000, she released her self titled debut album that year, followed a year later by Life Happened.
These two albums produced a total of six chart singles for her on the Billboard country charts between 2000 and 2003, of which the highest-charting was "Angels in Waiting" at No. 9.
A third album, Where I Am, followed in 2007.
Musical career
Cochran met Shane Decker, a songwriter for Warner Bros. Records, in 1998. After seeing Cochran, he offered his assistance in organizing demos to send to record companies. He also helped her obtain a job as a songwriter for Warner Chappell. Epic Records sent her demo tapes. "If You Can" was her first single in the same year, followed by "So What" later that year. Despite the fact that neither single made it to the top of the country charts, the third single ("Angels in Waiting," written about her brothers, debuted at No. 3 on the charts. Its success resulted in the unveiling of her self-titled debut album on September 9. The video for "Angels in Waiting" received a Christian Country Music Award for 'Video of the Year'. "I Cry," the album's fourth single, debuted in the top 20 as well.
Life Happened, Cochran's second album, was released a year later. The lead-off single debuted at number 20 in the Top 20, while "Love Won't Let Me," the sequel, debuted at No. 4. Epic's 31 and Cochran were dropped in 2003. Where I Am, her third album, was released on Shanachie Records in 2007.
She appeared in "One" at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in 2014.
