Syleena Johnson (born September 2, 1976) is an American R&B and soul singer-songwriter, actor, and co-co-mistress of the show.

Personal life

Johnson is the niece of 1960s R&B Hi Records singer Syl Johnson and Brenda Thompson, who was the first black female police commissioner of Harvey, Illinois. Syleecia and Sylette are two older sisters in Syleena. Johnson married former Illinois State University college basketball player Marcus Betts in August 2000. Betts debuted in December 2000 and became her boss for her first two albums.

Kiwane Garris was married on July 1, 2007 in Kiwane. Garris, a Chicagoan, has competed for various NBA and EuroLeague clubs. Their son Kiwane Garris Jr. was born on August 1, 2007, after forty-eight hours of labour. She gave birth to their second son Kingston on February 6, 2011.

Johnson is a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.

Johnson appeared on Kanye West's single "All Falls Down," his debut album The College Dropout, in 2004.

Johnson appeared on "Self Destruction," a single released by KRS-One, Twista, and Crucial Conflict in 2009.
