Mashonda Tifrerere (born January 9, 1978) is an American singer from Boston, Massachusetts.

Personal life
In 1998, Mashonda began dating record producer Kasseem Dean, also known as Swizz Beatz. In 2000, she had a miscarriage. She was the stepmother to Beatz's son Nasir, who was born during her pregnancy and whom she named. Beatz and she married in 2004. Kasseem Dean, Jr., the couple's son, was born in 2006. In 2008, the couple announced their split. According to Swizz, they were separated nine or ten months by June 2008, when he began his relationship with singer Alicia Keys. In May 2010, the divorce was finalized, citing irreconcilable inconsistencies.
Musical career
Mashonda signed a publishing contract with Warner Chapel Music in 1998. She later wrote for singer Monifah and worked with Full Force. She signed a recording deal with Columbia Records in the following year.
She appeared on American rapper Jay-Z's single "Girl's Best Friend" for the soundtrack to the film Blue Streak in 1999. The song, which was produced by Swizz Beatz, was also included as a hidden track on Jay-Z's fourth studio album Vol. S. Carter's life and Times (1999) Mashonda's vocals were also included on American rapper Eve's album "Gotta Man," produced by Beatz from her debut studio album Let There Be Eve (1999). Mashonda performed on "Get No Better," produced by Beatz' album Split Personality (2004), and American rapper Fat Joe's "Listen Baby," from his 2005 album All or Nothing, as he went on to make guest appearances.
