Steven Siro Valiant (born June 6, 1960) is an American guitarist, composer, singer, songwriter, and producer.
Valiant, a three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee, began his music career in 1978 as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa and performed in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983.
He began performing as a solo artist in 1983 and has released eight solo albums to date.
He has performed and toured with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake, as well as recording with musicians including Public Image Ltd, Mary J. Blige, Spinal Tap, and Ozzy Osbourne.
In addition,, Vai has toured with live-only bands G3, Zappa Plays Zappa, and the Experience Hendrix tour, as well as arranging international tours.

Vay is both a vegetarian and a beekeeper who is often tending to the beehives that are kept on his Encino property.
