His wife, Melora Harte, is a voice actress.

According to a Sunday NBC News article, Steve Kramer said he hired the botcall using artificial intelligence (AI) to impersonate President Biden's voice. Paul Carpenter, an illusionist who has experience with fork bending and getting out of straight jackets, was hired by Dean Phillips operative Steve Kramer in January to imitate Biden's voice. Carpenter told NBC News that after receiving payment on Venmo, he imitated Biden's in a tweet advising Democrats that they did not have to turn out in the New Hampshire primary for just 20 minutes, netting him a $149 profit. Carpenter told the paper, 'It's so scary that it's so easy to do.' People aren't excited about it.'
