Stacy Dean Campbell Career

Life and career

Campbell's father was a gospel musician who appeared with many well-known quartets, and as a co-inductee into "The Singing Campbell Family" is inducted into the Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame, alongside other members. Campbell, who was raised by his mother in Oklahoma and New Mexico, began his singing in clubs around the Oklahoma University campus and then moved to Nashville. He signed a 1992 contract with Tree Music as a staff songwriter, releasing his first album as a solo artist on Columbia Records. Three singles from his debut album made it to the Billboard Country singles chart.

Campbell released a follow-up album on Columbia in 1995, but in 1999, he joined the Warner Brothers label and shifted his attention to making an album that featured more of his songwriting. The result was "Ashes of Old Love," which debuted on the American Music Chart at number three. Campbell and Dean Miller co-wrote Trace Adkins' album "I'm Gonna Love You Anyway."

Campbell left the music industry in 2001 and moved to New Mexico, where he began working on a novel and then later, Cottonwood, his first book, was released in 2004. In 1937, a novel set in West Texas is set. A CD with 12 original songs based on the novel and composed by Campbell is included in the collection.

Campbell has developed his career and stepped behind the scenes, working as a director-writer on music videos and short films in recent years. Bronco Roads, a syndicated travel film that depicts life in the American West, is the creator of the Americana Travel series Bronco Roads. Campbell is the host.
