Shawn Michael Howard (born July 31, 1969) is an American film, television, and theater actor. Howard Howard was born in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Olivia C. and Frank Howard, Jr., brother of Brad Howard and Tyrone Scott Howard. Elijah Howard Shawn's father migrated to Manhattan at the age 19 to study acting at New York University. * In Mac Wellman's Crowbar, which received the obie for Best Play, he began working off-Broadway while still in school. * He appeared in character roles on episodic television in New York City, and his first film appearance was opposite Tupac Shakur in Above the Rim. * In 1994, Terrence Howard and I went to Hollywood and appeared in Sunset Park. Russell's breakthrough appearance on NBC's The Single Guy in 1995 was due to a series of recurring television roles. * He has appeared on many animated series, including American Dad!, Family Guy, and Robot Chicken. "Smokey" was his character on Eddie Murphy's animated film The PJs.
