Early life
Sheridan was born in Newark, Delaware. At William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
Career
He began his career as an intern at Saturday Night Live during the 1991-1992 season. From there, he stepped into Chicago's most well-known comedy troupe, The Second City, where he wrote, directed, and produced "Dave Sheridan's America," a multimedia stage performance. He appeared on Buzzkill, a 1996 MTV reality show that starred three slacker buddies staging elaborate pranks and capturing it all on film.
Sheridan is best known for his role as Officer Doofy in the Scary Film (1999). Doug was the main protagonist of the 2001 film Ghost World. Sheridan also appeared in Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By the Way" (playing a crazy taxi driver) and "Universally Speaking" in 2002. Sheridan performed with his band, Van Stone, in 2004.
Smile, You're Under Arrest! Sheridan produced a series called Smile...You're Under Arrest! In 2008–09, Fox Reality Channel hosted a reality show. He played Sheriff Lincoln in the parody film The Walking Deceased, which was inspired by The Walking Dead's.
