Sezen Aksu Career

Career

Sezen Aksu released Haydi ANSM/Gel Bana in 1975 under the name of "Sezen Seley." However, she remained undiscovered until her 1976 debut at the top of the Turkish charts, Olmaz Olsun/Vurdumduymaz. Sezen Aksu received the "Promising Female Artist of the Year" award in 1976. Serçe, 1978's debut album, earned her a well-known name that was first penned by a Turkish journalist.

Aksu has officially chosen Turkey to represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in the mid-70s. However, despite having participated in the national finals three times, with Küçük Masal (A Little Love Tale) as a duet with Coşkun Demir and Ali Kocatepe and 1945, she did not have a chance to represent Turkey abroad. Sertab Erener, Aksu's niece, would have won the Eurovision and bring her musical vision even further into Europe.

Aksu had a fruitful and professional relationship with producer Onno Tunç in the 1980s. Sen A.lama, Git, Sezen Aksu'88, Sezen Aksu Söylüyor, and Sezen Aksu Söylüyor were all working on Turkish pop music, as a pair. She developed her music in the 90's when she co-produced her best-selling album to-date Gülümse with Tunç. Hadi Bakalm, the album's A-1 track, was a hit in Turkey and Europe, and it was released as a single in Germany. It was to be revived in Europop by singer Loona as Rhythm of the Night. Aşkn Nur Yengi's debut album Sevgiliye (To a Lover) with Tunç appeared in 2007. Sertab Erener and Levent Yüksel will repeat her success as a tutor.

Aksu pioneered out with the experimental album Işelir in 1995, drawing both on Western classical and regional Turkish musical traditions. This album made her name known outside of Turkey and gained a global audience, especially in Europe. Düş Bahçeleri was unveiled in 1996 by the Queen in honor of Tunç, who died in 1996 when his private plane crashed the same year as she did. Dün ve Cenaze was born in 1997, but she spent the majority of her time with Goran Bregovi.

Ado Bende Sakl, which was released in 1998, has returned to her roots. She began to experiment with experimental sounds and was once more pushed by Turkish pop into the future. Aksu continued with this trend with her subsequent albums Deliveren, küylemek Lazm (which also featured former Sparks bassist Martin Gordon as engineer/mixer, who was also a bassist on her previous European tour), and Yaz Bitmeden between 2000 to 2003. After a two-year absence, she rejoined Bahane in 2005. Kardelen was released in 2005, but she and her friends donated it to charity, and Bahane/Remixes double-CD set with the original Bahane album on disc one and two remixes of songs on disc two were released before 2005.

She appeared in Fatih Akn's documentary film Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul in 2005, with a performance of the song "stanbul Hattras." Aksu wrote Eksir, a series of 197 songs written by her between 1975 and 2006. In the first four days after its launch, the book was well-received, and sales of 17,000 copies were in the first 4 days. In 2016, Eksik Kitap was the first to follow it, then Kitap, which was followed by Eksir kinci Kitap.

Aksu's Deniz Yldz's album was released on Starfish Records in 2008. She debuted her album Yürüyorum Bahçelerinde in 2009. The album features original songs as well as some older songs that were composed by Sezen Aksu for other artists, including "Akk" and "Yok Ki."

The American NPR radio announced that Aksu was on the "50 Great Sounds" list in 2010. Many Turkish and Swedish music enthusiasts attended Sezen Aksu's concert with Fahir Atakolu in Stockholm, Sweden, in April 2010. "TurkofAmerica" and "GNL Entertainment" in the United States arranged a series of concerts by Aksu in the United States, with the Washington-based Turkish Cultural Foundation donating to a nonprofit. The three concerts were held at three venues between 4–7 April: Strathmore in Maryland, Carnegie Hall in New York, and Prudential Hall in New Jersey. Atakolu also accompanied Aksu during her appearances in the United States. After a successful showing in New Jersey over the time allowed for her performance, Aksu told the audience: "We've met the [time] standards," the Americans have also set a record of patience, and New Jersey will not leave the scene until I make all of you happy."

Aksu bean started making music in 2011 and released the 'ptüm's debut. "Unuttun Mu Beni," "Vay," "Ah Felek Recederim," "Ah Felek Yordun Beni," "Ah Felek Yordun Beni," "Ah Felek Yordun Beni"), and even a song written by Nazan ncel titled "Ball" are among the album's songs on the album, which also includes a song composed by Nazan The poem "Saym" by Cemal Süreya was turned into a song by Aksu and included in the collection as well.

Aksu announced in January that she would no longer be seen on stage at her show in Volkswagen Arena Istanbul: "Each end is a new start." I'll continue to produce [music], but I'm going to say goodbye to the stage after doing a few concerts I've seen before. This will be my last concert in Istanbul. "I'm grateful for having you here with me today in honor of 40 years of my service." She reiterated that she would continue making music in September.

In January 2022, Aksu was chastised by conservatism and religious figures for referring Adam and Eve ignorant in the song "Ne ahane Bir ey Yaşamak" (a recap of the 2012 hit "C'est la vie"). The song appeared on the 2017 tribute album Alakasz'ark.lar, Vol. In honor of Yasar Gaga, one of his remains, but it resurfaced on social media in early 2022 after its lyric video was posted on Aksu's official YouTube channel on December 30th, 2021. President Recep Erdoli, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party Devlet Bahçeli, and the Directorate of Religious Affairs were among the political figures and government agencies to condemn Aksu and the song.
