Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, born 1960 (He later changed to Maake Ka-Ncube in honour of his stepfather who raised him), is one of South Africa's most respected actors and voice actors, having appeared in theatre, film, and television both in his native country, as well as in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

In 2008, he narrated Africa's Strangers, an unusually colored (albino) wild animal that was broadcast by Animal Planet.

Ka-Ncube is best known in his home country for his role in the long-running ETV soap opera Scandal. Lucas "Daniel" Nyathi, a South African soap, is a play on the South African soap.

Early life

Maake kaNcube was born in Orlando East, Soweto, South Africa. He later moved to Atteridgeville, Pretoria, where he grew up. In honor of his stepfather and his biological father, he changed his surname to Maake kaNcube. From the University of Leeds, he earned a master's degree in script writing.
