Ryan Dolan (born 22 July 1985) is an Irish pop musician from Strabane, Northern Ireland.

Personal life
Dolan came out as gay in an interview on RTÉ Radio 1 in February 2014. "I was curious about who I was in school, and it was really difficult for me to grow up because of this." I knew I was gay, but I didn't have the confidence to talk to someone about it."
Dolan, a SDLP MLA, purchased a pub in County Tyrone in November 2019.
Career
His album "Only Love Survivives" won Ireland's Eurosong 2013 song competition, and Dolan went on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. After finishing in the top ten in the first semi-finals at Malmö Arena on May 14, 2013, he qualified for the final. Dolan came last in the final in the tournament, earning only five points from three countries in the final, which took place on May 18th.
Frequency's first album was released on May 13, 2013. Since being rejected on RTÉ Radio 1, he released his second single "Start Again" on March 7, 2014. Its music video is a tale of a gay boy's suicide. On YouTube, it has been watched more than one million times. He attracted interest from LGBT groups and performed in a number of pride festivals, including Pride in Newry 2014 and Bristol Pride 2015. He unveiled his third single "Fall to the Floor" on June 20, 2014. It did marginally on the charts, peaking at 88 on the Irish Recorded Music Association at 88.
He was one of the five members of the Irish jury in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 and was one of the five finalists. He released his fourth single Uptown Downtown on November 20, 2015. On December 18, 2015, he posted his version of "Hello" by Adele on YouTube, and from there, he's released several cover songs including "Pillowtalk" by Zayn Malik and Selena Gomez's "Hands to Myself." He released Under the Covers, Vol.1, on February 19, 2016.
