Radhika Madan Career

Career

Madan, a Delhi resident, began her career by appearing in the daily soap opera TV series Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi on Colors TV. Ishaani Vaghela, opposite Shakti Arora, was the female lead in the Ishaani Vaghela film, which earned her a huge following. The series became one of the most popular shows of Colors television, airing for more than 400 episodes from June 2014 to February 2016.

Madan, who was busy shooting for Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, also appeared in Colors TV's dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 in 2015.

Madan stayed on television to make her debut in Vishal Bhardwaj's drama Pataakha (2018) starring Sanya Malhotra. Based on Charan Singh Pathik's short story Do Behnen, it revolved around two sisters in Rajasthan who are always in conflict. Both Madan and Malhotra met the real woman for the dialect and the character's nuances, based on Pathik's brothers' wives, so the novel was based on the wives of Pathik's brothers, and for planning. Both Malhotra and Madan stayed in Ronsi village near Jaipur and learned the Rajasthani dialect; they also became comfortable with milking buffaloes, thatching roofs, plastering the walls with dung, and walking for long distances; while balancing matkas full of water on their head and one around their waist. They were also required to carry 10 kilograms (22 lb) of body fat. "Radhika Madan positively shines in this managerial role, unwavering in dialect and tenacity," Raja Sen wrote in his review.

Madan appeared in Vasan Bala's action comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota with newcomer Abhimanyu Dassani. It premiered in the People's Choice Award category of the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received the People's Choice Award: Midnight Madness. The film was also on view at the 2018 MAMI Film Festival. Madan said she was auditioning for Laila Majnu (2018) when she learned about Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and chose the latter film due to its "uniqueness." She did all the stunts herself and watched several classic action films for days to familiarize herself with the style. During her physical preparations, she was also injured. Despite the character's "inconsistent treatment," Pradeep Menon of Firstpost called her a "delight as Supri" and noted that Madan "manages to make it work by sheer will and talent." She "sparkles in the action sequences," the actor explained further.

Madan appeared in Homi Adajania's comedy-drama Angrezi Medium, starring Irrfan Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Khan's last film before his death in April 2020. Anupama Chopra was described as a "fully natural" in the role. "Captures the innocence of a 17-year-old girl, who is eager to get out of her small town and see the world," she wrote.

Madan's 2021 mission was to produce a number of four projects. With her appearances as Divya Didi in Ray and Avani Rajvansh in Feels Like Ishq, she made her debut into web series, earning critical acclaim. Ni Jaana, a single by Jasleen Royal, was also included in the music video. On Disney+ Hotstar, her only film in 2021 was released. Sunny Kaushal was in Kunal Deshmukh's romance film Shiddat.

Madan will appear in Kacchey, Limbu, with Rajat Barmecha and Ayush Mehra. Monica, O My Darling, and Adajania's untitled film have both finished shootings for Adajania's unidentified film and Netflix's Monica Darling. She has also agreed to appear as the titular character in Sudhanshu Saria's Sanaa. She shot for Bhardwaj's film and son Aasmaan's directorial Kuttey.

Madan launched shooting for a Tamil film Soorarai Pottru remake with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in April 2022. In September 2022, she and Nimrat Kaur began filming Vijan's Happy Teacher's Day with Nimrat Kaur.
