Victoria Pedretti Career

Career

Pedretti rose to fame for her appearance on Netflix's 2018 series The Haunting of Hill House, in which she played Eleanor "Nell" Crain Vance. She was praised for her appearance and received Saturn Award and MTV Award nominations in 2019; she was soon established as a modern-day scream queen. "Pedretti's emotions to the role add a terrifying realism to the role, and viewers will experience all of Nell's agony and hysteria until the very end. Victoria Pedretti is one of Victoria's most defining roles, although she is still getting off, "this is one of the first roles."

Pedretti applied for the role of Guinevere Beck on the thriller series You; although she was turned down, the producers later cast her as Love Quinn in the show's second season, as shown by her co-star Penn Badgley. On December 26, 2019, Netflix announced the second season, with Pedretti's appearance and the show being well received. Pedretti also appeared in Quentin Tarantino's comedy-drama film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which was also a commercial hit, winning her a nomination for Best Acting Ensemble in 2019.

Pedretti appeared in Amazing Stories in 2020 as Evelyn Porter, and she appeared in Katherine in the biographical-drama film Shirley, the latter of which received applauding comments from critics. Pedretti was expected to oversee the follow-up season to Hill House, but The Haunting of Bly Manor, which was announced in 2020 to a rousing reception, was later revealed to be The Haunting of Bly Manor. "If there is one performance that has definitely be a star-making one, one would need look no further than Victoria Pedretti's incredible work" in 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards. She said that the role of Dani helped her to develop into darker roles in the horror and thriller genres, and that she has "a knack for" them.

Pedretti appeared in singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves' film Star-Crossed, a sequel to Musgraves' album of the same name, in 2021 as a woman participating in a heist. Musgrave Times' song "Simple Times" was based on a clip from the film starring Pedretti. For the third season of You, which was released on October 15, 2021, she reprised the role of Love Quinn. "This is not a show where you can be like, no one's going to kiss," Pedretti's filming took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, where intimate scenes put a strain on Pedretti's filming: "Nobody's going to kiss." It'll be fine,' says the author.' It took months to figure out how to do it safely. [...] It's bizarre. We have a rapport. We've played a few games before, but after being in a global pandemic, it didn't appear immediately." At the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards, she was nominated for Best Villain.

It was announced in May 2021 that Pedretti would appear in the film Lucky, based on the memoir of the same name, in which she would be portraying writer Alice Sebold during her freshman year at Syracuse University. However, in November 2021, it was announced that the film had been cancelled due to the film's lack of funding. Following a year of Hulu's original series Saint X, Pedretti was announced to be headlining the Hulu original series Saint X. Following month, it was announced that Pedretti departed due to creative differences, with Alycia Debnam-Carey replacing her in the lead role.
