Life and career
She went to Paris at 16 to investigate drama against her parents' recommendation; her father, actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu, particularly tried to discourage her from going to a career that followed in his footsteps but was unsuccessful. She made her screen debut in Roger Vadim's 1983 film Surprise Party after appearing on stage. She appeared on television for the first time in 1985 (and was nominated for the Most Promising Actress), starring the distraught mother in Trois hommes et un couffin (Three Men and a Cradle). Coline Serreau's comedy earned her film career and a number of roles in costume films, including Andrzej Wata's Les Deux Fragonard, Philippe Le Guay's 1984 debut, and Robert Enrico's and Richard T. Heffron's La Révolution française, which was released in 1989 to coincide with the 1789 Revolution's bicentennial.
She appeared in the title role of the French film Natalia, which was screened at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival.
