Peter Voulkos Life

Panagiotis Harry Voulkos, born in Bozeman, Montana, on January 29, 1924 – died on February 16, 2002 in Bowling Green, Ohio) was an American artist of Greek descent. Peter Voulkos (born Panagiotis Harry Voulkos, 1924, was an American artist of Greek descent.

He is best known for his abstract expressionist ceramic sculptures, which crossed the traditional division between ceramic crafts and fine art.

He established the ceramics department at the Los Angeles County Art Institute and UC Berkeley.

Personal life

Margaret Cone, her first wife and their daughter, Pier, a polymer clay artist; his mother, Ann, and their son, Aris; and two sisters, Voulkos are survivors.

Peter Voulkos started attending a rehabilitation center for alcohol and cocaine use in the early 1980s.
