Paul Heaton Life

Paul David Heaton (born 9 May 1962) is an English singer-songwriter. Heaton, the frontman of the Housemartins, enjoyed success with the singles "Happy Hour" and "Caravan of Love" in 1986 before disbanding in 1988.

He then formed the Beautiful South, whose debut single and album were released in 1989 to commercial success, and then followed with a string of hits throughout the 1990s, including the number-one single "A Little Time."

They were disbanded in 2007 when they were disbanded.

He continued to work as a producer, released three albums, and in 2014 he released What Have We Become, a well-received collaboration with former Beautiful South vocalist Jacqui Abbott.

Wisdom, Laughter, and Lines, her sister's album, was released in 2015, and Crooked Calypso became the third one. Heaton has been described as "one of our finest songwriters" by the Guardian, "his music reveals an enthralling sense of melody, his lyrics a keen eye, and a scathing humor."

"Paul Heaton's warm, mellifluous voice masks much of his lyrics' jagged satirical material," AllMusic said.

Early life

Paul David Heaton was born in Bromborough, Cheshire (now Merseyside), to parents Doris and Horace Heaton on May 9, 1962. Heaton has two older brothers, Mark Heaton and Adrian Heaton. His family moved to Sheffield at the age of four. Heaton became interested in football while living in Sheffield, and although his elder brothers opted to watch Sheffield Wednesday, Heaton chose Sheffield United instead. Heaton's father worked in management and Heaton's childhood was described as "fairly middle class," although you would not know it given the schools I went to and the acquaintances I had."

Heaton, a young boy from Sheffield, moved to Chipstead, Surrey, where he spent his adolescent years Heaton referred to as "bred in Sheffield, fed in Surrey." Although living in Surrey, John Box and Stuart Mair formed "Tools Down" with his brother Adrian. Heaton spent time on hitch-hiking around Europe before heading to Hull in 1983, where he established the Housemartins. Heaton lived in Leeds for a year.

Heaton's greatest passion was football, and he attended Sheffield United games on a daily basis throughout his childhood. Heaton has attended over 700 competitive games at the youth and adult level, with many people requiring to get back from work or Saturday night to watch his Saturday and Sunday matches.

Personal life

Heaton, his wife and three children, live in Manchester.

Heaton has often referred to the Beautiful South as having a strong drinking culture. Several songs by the Beautiful South, including "Woman in the Wall," "Liars' Bar," "I May Be Ugly," "Look What I Found in My Beer" and "Old Red Eyes Is Back," have all referenced to alcoholism or drug-fueled violence. Heaton took over the lease of The Kings Arms public house in Salford, Greater Manchester, in December 2011. In December 2015, he sold the pub.

He is an avid collector and has a large number of collections including football memorabilia, crisp packets, beer mats, postcards, and comics.

He left £1,000 behind 60 pubs around Ireland and the United Kingdom for a free drink on their 60th birthday in May 2022. For more information, go to the internet and search for his name and the 1000th anniversary of his birth.

As Coldplay becomes latest band to spark ticket price fury - how inflation, sober gig-goers and yes, greed, is hitting music fans where it hurts

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 27, 2024
Oasis sparked controversy with dynamic pricing on their reunion tour tickets last month, and today Coldplay have sparked similar fury - with fans saying there was no sign of the cheapest tickets within minutes of them going on sale. The average concert ticket, according to research earlier this year, now costs around £101 - but gig goers may be surprised to learn that less than half of that ends up in the artist's pocket.

Temperatures plummet across Britain after 30C heat as Glastonbury festivalgoers face cooler day

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 28, 2024
Britain's hot spell is now coming to an end with cooler and windy weather on the way, with the outlook for increasingly unsettled conditions over the next few days. Temperatures will move closer to the seasonal average across the UK with showers moving into northern England and Scotland, the Met Office said. The wet weather could continue into the weekend in northern areas, with strong winds also expected. Further south, sunny spells will stay but temperatures will be lower amid light winds. It will then turn cloudier by the start of next week, with rain moving in from the west. Glastonbury revellers are expected enjoy weather across the weekend that is 'mostly dry with plenty of sunny spells' and temperatures about average for June, which will be at 18C (64F) today before rising to 19C (66F) tomorrow and 21C (70F) on Sunday. It follows the UK's first heatwave of the year that saw a 2024 high of 30.3C (86.5F) on Wednesday and a four-day heat health alert that expired yesterday afternoon.
