Paul Bernardo Life

Paul Kenneth Bernardo (born August 27, 1964), also known as Paul Jason Teale, is a Canadian serial killer and serial rapist.

Bernardo was known for a string of rapes in Scarborough, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, between 1989 and 1990.

He then committed three brutal murders with his then-wife Karla Homolka; one of the victims was his young sister-in-law Tammy Homolka.

Bernardo was sentenced to life in prison after his capture and conviction and was later found to be a dangerous criminal who was unlikely to be released.

Early life

Nick Pron's book Lethal Marriage describes the young Bernardo: "He was always smiling." A young boy who smiled a lot. And he was so cute, with his dimpled good looks and sweet smile, that many of the mothers would just want to pinch him on the cheek every time they saw him. He was the perfect boy they all wanted: polite, well mannered, doing well in school, but so sweet in his Boy Scout uniform." Bernardo, despite the charming facade, had dark sexual fantasies and adored humiliating people in public and beating women he dated. Bernardo was 16 years old when his mother told him that he was born illegitimately during an extramarital affair. He began openly insulting her.

Bernardo attended Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, then went to University of Toronto Scarborough in 1982, where his sales culture deeply affected him: "He purchased the books and tapes of well-known motivational get-rich-and-famous experts." Bernardo and his allies tried to pick up teen women they encountered in prison, and they were very successful. He met Karla Homolka in October 1987 and were instantly attracted to each other. She encouraged his sadistic sexual conduct unlike the other women he encountered. Bernardo was keenly interested in the 1991 Bret Easton Ellis book "American Psycho" and "read it as his Bible," although it turned out that it belonged to his wife and accomplice Karla Homolka, and it is unlikely that Bernardo ever read it.

The Barbie killer in Canada claims that Ken husband FORCED her to murder three people, according to a new video of her

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 21, 2022
Paul Bernardo, 58, and Karla Homolka, 52, from Canada, kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered several teen girls, including Karla's own sister. Karla said that after the couple, nicknamed the 'Ken and Barbie Killers,' were apprehended, he was 'physically and verbally offensive', and she was given a plea bargain in exchange for her testimony against him. Karla was found guilty of two counts of murderer and received a 12-year sentence. She was released on July 5, 2005, and has since remarried and welcomed three children; Paul was sentenced to life in jail. Karla's sentence became one of the most controversial decisions Canada has ever seen after police discovered videos taken while the crimes were being committed, which showed her participating and 'enjoying' them. Now, a video of her interview with police has surfaced, showing her describing the horrific killings and confessing to her involvement in them, but only after she stopped Paul from 'hurting' her. She also told investigators that she helped Paul's victims by hovering over them with a rubber mallet as he went on errands, and that she even lured one in by asking for directions so Paul could grab her.

Documentary lays bare story of 'Ken and Barbie Killers' who brutally raped and murdered women

In one of the most'sensational and sinister cases in Canadian history, Paul Bernardo, now 58, and Karla Homolka, now 52, were kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered three young women.' After being apprehended, Karla said she had been coerced to help Paul with the horrific crimes and was offered a plea bargain from prosecutors in exchange for her testimony against her then-husband. However, after police discovered videos of the defendants while the criminal charges were being investigated - which led to a different conclusion - the lawsuit and Karla's sentence became one of Canada's most contentious decisions. She spent 12 years in jail, but was released in 2005. She has since remarried and welcomed three children while living in Montreal, Canada. As for Paul, he was found guilty of nine criminal charges in 1995, including kidnapping, unlawful detention, unlawful prosecution, unlawful assault, and murder, and was sentenced to life in jail. Now, a Real Women/Real Stories documentary has shed the light on the couple's horrific behavior, and has re-raised the question of whether or not Karla deserves to serve longer.
