Bertrand Cantat (born 5 March 1964) is a French singer and former frontman of rock band Noir Désir.
He was found guilty of murder ("with indirect intention") in 2003, a dolus eventualis) of French actress Marie Trintignant.

Early life
Cantat was born in Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques. He spent his childhood in Le Havre, the son of a navy officer. When he was an adolescent to Bordeaux, his family was relocated. Denis Barthe, Serge Teysot-Gay, and Frédéric Vidalenc, who became members of his band, became involved at the lycée Saint-Genès.
