Early life
Joyce Jean (Jodoin) and David Vincent Turco in Boston, Massachusetts, were married. Since her father's death, she and her mother were moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, where they were raised. She is of Italian, French-Canadian, and English ancestry. She began ballet lessons as a child and wanted to become a classical ballerina. She attended the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts, graduating in 1983 and performing as a soloist at the New England Dance Conservatory, the Amherst Ballet Theatre Company, and the Western Massachusetts Ballet Company. The possibility of professional ballet was eliminated due to an ankle injury. "I couldn't even go to the ballet anymore," she said later. It was too painful." Career
Turco made her television debut on the CBS soap opera Guiding Light as Dinah Marler in 1987, and she appeared on the soap opera All My Children as Melanie Cortlandt. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Mysterious Ooze (1991) and later in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (1993), she replaced Judith Hoag. She appeared in a few small films before returning to television with a role in Winnetka Road, a short-lived 1994 NBC primetime soap starring Catherine Hicks. Turco appeared in another short-lived series, CBS's cult classic American Gothic, in the following season. Annie Mott, a single mother who is also a recovering alcoholic, appeared in NYPD Blue as Officer Abby Sullivan and on Party of Five as Annie Mott. In Episode 15 of Life On Mars, she also played the romantic interest of real-life husband Jason O'Mara.
