Nikolaos "Nikos" Oikonomopoulos (born 30 June 1984) is a Greek singer who performed in Athena.

He appeared on the Greek talent show Dream Show - The Music 2, of which he was the champion.

Nikos Oikonomopoulos is the best contemporary male singer in the latter half of the decade, with a substantial number of album sales.

Early life

Nikos Oikonomopoulos was born in Patra on June 30. He grew up in a town outside of Patras, Kato Achaia. He performed in various towns, first in the Peloponnese and then in Northern Greece. He used to fish and worked in a pizzeria. He appeared on Dream Show - The Music 2 in December 2006, becoming the winner of the reality Alpha TV show Dream Show - The Music 2.

Proti Agapi (First Love), his first studio album, was released on November 15, 2007. Many songs from this album, including "Everybody For You"), "Den Eisia Entaxei" ("You Are Not Okay"), "Koita Na Mathaineis"), "Looking for You"), and "This Star" ("This Star") are among others.

At the MAD Video Music Awards 2008 in June 2008, he received the award for "Best New Artist" in June 2008. "Kai Mi Girizeis" (And Do Not Come Back) and his second studio album titled Akousa... (I Heard), which went gold, was released in December 2008.

At the MAD Video Music Awards 2009, he received the award for "Best Contemporary Laiko Video Clip" with the song "Ola Sena."

Katathesi Psihis (Deposit Soul), which obtained a platinum award in December 2009, was released by Oikonomopoulos in December 2009. It contained hits such as "What Am I Going To Do With You"), "Katathesi Psihis" ("Deposit Soul"), "Mou Psihi"), "I Told Me A Soul"), and "Only God Knows" (only God Knows).

Oikonomopolos signed with Minos EMI in the winter.

He worked with Kostas Martakis at Thea in the summer of 2010 and in the winter at Fix with Nino and Ioakeim Fokas.

Oikonomopoulos' fourth studio album, Doro Gia Sena (A Present For You), was released on December 3, 2010. It received platinum status from the first week. In 2011, it became triple platinum.

The album Tha Eimai Edo (I'm going to be here) was released in December 2011. The album's biggest hits were songs "Kai Ti Egine" ("So What"), "Kali Kardia" ("Good Heart"), "Search Me"), and "Exartimenos" ("Addict"). Despina Vandi and Elli Kokkinou, both from Oikonomopoulos, appeared at Fever for the winter season. For one week, the album was rated double platinum.

Oikonopoulos worked at Peggy Zina in Thea in the summer of 2012.

Tha Eimai Edo was awarded four times platinum in September 2012.

Ennoeitai (It's Understood) was released the same year the same year that Ennoeitai was first introduced (It's Understood). It was given a double platinum status.

On December 6, 2013, Oikonomopoulos launched Eilikrina, the first album to be released (Sincerely). "Exaitias Sou" ("Because of You"), "Mi Figeis Tora" ("Do Not Leave Now"), "I Feel Sorry For You"), "I Feel Sorry For You"), "Na Skepazesai Ta Vradia" ("Covering The Nights"), and "Covering The Nights" were among the hits. Eilikrina went double platinum on December 16th, and Ennoeitai went four times platinum.

Lena Papadopoulou led Oikonomopoulos to a concert series in Thea in the summer of 2014.

Gia Hilious Logous, his eighth album, was released on November 17th, 2014 (Because of Thousand Reasons). The album's first two singles, "Pote" ("Never") and "Gia Hilious Logous," had a lot of success, and the album has reached a four-time platinum in Greece.

Oikonomopoulos' new song "An Ponas" ("If You Suffer") appeared in 2015 (If You Suffer"). The song was the first big hit of his new album Ena Mikrofono Ki Ego (One Microphone And I), which was released on December 17th. In Greece, the album reached its multiplatinum.

"Einai Laika" ("It's Something Laic"), Oikonomopoulou's latest song, "Einai Kati Laika") was written by Giorgos Sabanis and Eleni Giannatsoulia. On Greek radio on Monday, the song premiered on Greek radio on November 7, 2016.

He released "For Some Reason" ("For Some Reason") in October 2017, which was also written by Sabanis and Giannatsoulia. It is one of YouTube's most viewed Greek songs.

On December 8, 2017, his new album, 10, was released.
