Fountas has been embroiled in a racial controversy for the second time in less than a year, after being investigated by MLS in connection with allegations that he called an opponent the N-word during a game. According to ESPN, DC United has now ruled to dismiss Fountas, weeks after the team placed him on administrative leave.
