In a league match against Dijon on August 3, he made his professional debut on August 3rd, taking the field with only ten minutes to play. In a 2–3 home loss, he scored his first league goal against Monaco on December 22, 2012.

Sanson announced on June 12, 2013 that he had agreed to a four-year contract with Montpellier for a reported €700,000. He made his club debut against Stade de Reims on September 14th, a 0–0 draw.

Sanson joined Marseille on January 17 by signing a four-and-a-half-year contract, earning a €9 million, plus €3 million in bonuses. He scored a goal in the 56th minute in a 4–1 Ligue 1 away victory over Lorient on March 5, 2017, his first Ligue 1 goal for Marseille.

On May 3, 2018, he competed in the Europa League semi-finals against FC Red Bull Salzburg, losing 1–2 away from his team, but ultimately gained a spot in the 2018 UEFA Europa League Final, which was played at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

Sanson spent four years with Aston Villa in England, costing him £14 million with £1.5 million in add-ons, on January 26, 2021. Sanson made his Aston Villa debut as a late replacement in a 3–1 loss to West Ham at Villa Park on February 3, 2021. In a 3–1 victory over Fulham on April 4th, 2021, Sanson sustained a knee injury midway through the second half, putting an end to his season prematurely.

Sanson returned from injury in a 3–1 victory over Wycombe Wanderers in the EFL Trophy on Sunday, August 31st 2021. Sanson was recalled to the first team in an EFL Cup match against Chelsea on September 22nd, 2021, but he was forced to leave the field before halftime due to a return to his injury. Steven Gerrard's appointment as the Aston Villa manager coincided with Sanson's return to fitness, and he played in the Premier League for the first time in 8 months on December 26, 2021. Despite Sanson's fleeting appearances up until that point, Gerrard expressed how Sanson had been dissatisfied with his English football career, but he had reassured him that he was still gifted, but he had hoped to prove it.

What can Man United fans expect with Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the helm? The British billionaire has had his problems at Nice and was chastised by the club's captain last season; but now they've restructured and are flying in Ligue 1 for the first time

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 19, 2023
If Manchester United's board approves a transfer that will see Sir Jim Ratcliffe's company take a 5 percent stake in the club, a significant change could be on the way. Since his key rival, Qatari Sheikh Jassim, withdrew his bid on Saturday night, the petrochemical billionaire seems to have dominated the Premier League giants. Ratcliffe, a lifelong United fan, will pay around £1.4 billion for a quarter stake at Old Trafford in the first step in what is perceived as a staged buyout.

After being knocked off during a FA Cup match, Stevenage troll Philippe Coutinho of Aston Villa took to Twitter

Philippe Coutinho was chastised by a triumphant Aston Villa during their FA Cup clash on Sunday, Stevenage chastised him for his results. The joke ended squarely on the Premier League, as the League Two club struck twice late on to win a historic upset in England's top cup competition. When Coutinho was substituted by Unai Emery in the 66th minute, Villa was leading Morgan Sanson's first-half goal. Emi Buendia had him replaced.

Following a big FA Cup upset, Stevenage boss Steve Evans accuses Aston Villa of running SCARED

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 8, 2023
After his Stevenage side put up one of the best FA Cup upsets to shame the Premier League team, Steve Evans accused Aston Villa of running scared. Morgan Sanson's first-half goal seemed to have sent Villa into the fourth round before Stevenage, who are second in League Two, scored twice in the final two minutes through replacements Jamie Reid - from the penalty spot - and Dean Campbell. When Leander Dendoncker fouled Campbell for the spot-kick, he was shown the red card. Evans also suggested that Villa, who made eight changes, had been hesitant to put in the hard yards against a club that had 59 places below them in the league system.
