Mike Smith Career

Acting career

Smith, a long-time friend of Trailer Park Boys director Mike Clattenburg, appeared on "Cart Boy" with Robb Wells (who plays Ricky) and John Paul Tremblay (who plays Julian), as a former student of Julian.

Smith was "messing" around on the set one day and then transformed into the Cart Boy character from the short "The Cart Boy." Clattenburg evidently understood the depth of this character, and the Cart Boy, now known as Bubbles, was written into the series. Bubbles were never intended to be a main character, but the more he behaved, the more audiences loved him, making him a breakout star. Bubbles later became one of the three main protagonists, despite establishing that he knew Julian and Ricky from kindergarten to high school in the late 1980s.

In Snow's 2002 music video Legal, Smith appeared as Bubbles, but his swearing was not censored. He was also seen in "Drinkin Thinkin," which showed Bubbles going after his mother. "The Darkest One" featured Mike and the remainder of the Trailer park boys in The Tragically Hip video. Bubbles at several Guns N' Roses 2006 Canadian tour dates and times in Australia and Japan. In Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia respectively, Bubbles, along with Ricky and Julian, hosted the 2006 and the 2007 East Coast Music Awards.

Smith and three others opened "Bubba Ray's" in Halifax in March 2008.

Smith was also involved in "Bubbles' Mansion," a bar in Downtown Halifax, owned by Jim Smith. After four years of operation, Smith's bar closed in March 2010, owing to government raises in the minimum wage and minimum drink prices, which was attributed to government hikes.

In the 2010 film The Drunk and On Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour, Smith reunited with some of his former Trailer Park Boys coworkers.

He also performed a live version of "Closer to the Heart" with progressive rock band Rush.

Smith would reprise his role as Bubbles in a third feature length Trailer Park Boys film titled "Don't Legalize It," which ended filming in late April 2012. On April 18, 2014, the film was released.

Smith and his Trailer Park Boys colleagues Wells and Tremblay began Swearnet, an internet-based television network that is completely uncensored. The trio has also produced a film that is a parody of their own website.

Is anyone suffering from Covid-19 vaccine exhaustion?

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 8, 2022
A fourth dose of the Covid vaccine is being given to 26 million Britons (it's the fifth jab for the over-75s). And this time, it has been reformulated to target the latest Covid variants. There's just one catch: there are just too few people are taking it. Every jab campaign, from meningitis to flu, is met with vigour,' Professor Paul Hunter of the University of East Anglia said.' Vaccine exhaustion occurs in every jab campaign, from meningitis to flu.' We've already seen it all happening between each Covid jab, but this time it seems more pronounced.'
