Gabriel Swann Macht (born January 22, 1972) is an American actor and film director best known for his role as Harvey Specter on the USA Network series Suits.
Early life
Macht was born in The Bronx, New York City, to Jewish parents. He is the son of Suzanne Victoria Pulier, a museum curator and archivist, and actor Stephen Macht. Jesse, a guitarist (who appeared on The Next Great American Band), Ari Serbin, and Julie are three siblings. Macht was born in California at the age of five. He attended Carnegie Mellon College of Fine Arts, where he graduated in 1994 after graduating from Beverly Hills High School. During his time at Carnegie Mellon, he became a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Personal life
In 2004, Macht married Australian-born actress Jacinda Barrett. A girl, the couple's first child, was born in Los Angeles in August 2007. In February 2014, they had their second child, a son, with the same name.
Macht has been the best friend of his Suits co-star Sarah Rafferty for more than 28 years, ever since they first met at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 1993. He was one of the guests at Meghan Markle's wedding to Prince Harry at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, in May 2018.

Career
Since appearing in the film Why Doesn't Lie?, Macht was nominated for the Best Young Motion Picture Actor Award. Gabriel Swann, a stage name, appeared on stage.

Macht appeared in Frank Miller's 2008 adaptation of Will Eisner's comedic creation The Spirit of the Spirit. Despite the fact that the film was a failure on theatrical release, Macht's film and himself gained cult followings.
Macht had signed on to appear in Suits' USA Network drama, which was then known under the working title A Legal Mind. Macht appeared in all nine seasons and 134 episodes. Macht received co-producer credit for season 3.
