Mike Pollock Career

Career

He had been enrolled in some children's movies, anime, and a segment of Pokémon when he returned to New York City in the 1990s. Pollock recalled it was director Eric Stuart who brought him in as a guest spot for Pokémon, and he was later accepted for roles in Kirby: Right Back to Ya!, Ultimate Muscle, and the FoxBox promo announcer. Meat in Ultimate Muscle was his first big anime role.

In the English dub of Sonic X, Pollock first appeared as Doctor Eggman, in which he also portrayed Professor Gerald Robotnik. As part of SEGA's attempt to maintain vocal consistency between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Rush video game series beginning with the 2005 games Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Rush, Pollock assumed the role of Eggman in the 2005 video game series Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Rush.

Several anime websites, anime conventions, podcasters, and interviewers have also paid attention to Pollock's appearance as Dr. Eggman in dozens of video games and animated series within the Sonic franchise. Dr. Eggman's performance has a similarity to the character himself.

Sega revealed that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise would be recasting, with a new group of voice actors based in Los Angeles, California; however, Pollock has also announced that Pollock will continue to portray Dr. Eggman.

Pollock is the only voice actor from the entire Sonic cast to live in New York rather than California; he works with the Studiopolis cast via headphones. Pollock has reprised his role as Dr. Eggman on the television series Sonic Boom, which premiered on November 8, 2014. Pollock has been in the role for longer than any other English-speaking actor.

Pollock narrated Vince Lombardi's "What It Takes to Be Number One" speech in a commercial film titled "One Tough Mother" for Teleflora's Mother's Day campaign in 2016.
