Michaela Pereira Life

Michaela Pereira (born August 26, 1970) is a Canadian television presenter best known as being a host for KTLA in Los Angeles, where Pereira and the hosts of two other HLN live news shows, which premiered on June 16, 2016 on CNN, were fired by the network in October.

Education

Pereira attended Peter Skene Secondary School, a public high school in 100 Mile House, British Columbia, from which she graduated in 1988, Camosun College, and the University of Victoria, which is also in British Columbia.

Personal life

Pereira was adopted. Her parents and siblings are not of the same ethnicity, which has led her to her becoming a vocal advocate for children's rights. Despite the fact that she lived and worked in the United States for several years, she maintains her citizenship in Canada. She speaks Portuguese in lieu of English, and she was an avid snowboarder before 2010 knee surgery.

Michaela Pereira Career

Life and career

Pereira began her career as a host of a magazine show and documentary special in Victoria, British Columbia. She has written about weather, sports, and entertainment.

She then co-hosted Internet Tonight on ZDTV with Scott Herriott, a daily glimpse at internet news and entertaining, informative, and amusing websites. Pereira became a regular host for TechLive in 2001 after its departure in 2001, when she joined KTLA in Los Angeles. On February 6, 2004, she hosted her last episode of TechLive, shortly after which TechTV began the process of merging with G4 in the next month, resulting in its demise.

Gene Siskel was one of many celebrities who briefly worked on television with film critic Roger Ebert in 1999, but she was later replaced by Richard Roeper. She explored how her tastes leaned toward the mainstream and his toward the arthouse culture in one installment of the series, as well as the increasing use of the Internet to promote major films.

Former game show host Bob Eubanks co-hosted the Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2007, replacing Stephanie Edwards. In 2008, Pereira co-hosted the parade coverage with Eubanks.

Pereira will leave KTLA to become a host of a new morning show at CNN on March 28, 2013. She returned to Los Angeles in 2016 to anchor the live news show Michaela on HLN.

Pereira's contract with the network was halted in October 2018, as well as Ashleigh Banfield and Carol Costello, who were based on the network's decision to reduce its live news broadcasting. On October 26, 2018, Pereira's show (as well as the shows hosted by Banfield and Costello) came to an end.

Pereira began a new life on KTTV (channel 112) beginning in October 2020.

For nine years, Pereira served as the co-host of KTLA Morning News, Los Angeles' most rated morning newscast. The program received nine Emmy Awards, including one for "Best Regularly Scheduled Daily News." In 2006 and 2006, Pereira received three Radio & TV News Association Golden Mike Awards for live coverage of a news story, "Urban Farm Eviction," and "Best Daytime News Broadcast in both 2004 and 2006. "Best Live Coverage of a News Event," Hostage Standoff Mexican Consulate, and "Best 60 Minute Broadcast: KTLA Morning News," she was also honoured with two Mark Twain Awards in 2004 for "Best Live Coverage of a News Event."

She is chairwoman of the board of directors of a school enrichment and recreation program in Los Angeles. She served as a member of the Long Beach Boys and Girls Club's board of directors; an advisory board member of EmpowerTech; serving people with disabilities; and co-chair of the Optimist Youth Home's advisory board, providing programs for troubled youth.
