Michael Terry Weiss (born February 2, 1962) is an American actor best known for his role as Jarod in the television series The Pretender.

Early life

Michael Terry Weiss was born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 2, 1962. His father, who worked in steel production, and his mother, a homemaker, was a housekeeper. Jamie Sue Weiss, who became a make-up artist for television and films, has a sister. In Northbrook, Illinois, he attended Glenbrook North High School. He graduated from the University of Southern California.

Career

Weiss began acting as an infant, where he appeared in Chicago's local TV commercials.

He appeared in Ordinary People in 1980, at the age of 18. Mike Horton appeared on Days of Our Lives shortly after his college graduation. Weiss appeared in the television prime time drama The Pretender for four seasons as the lead character Jarod. Weiss appeared in the 1991 revival of "Dark Shadows (1991 TV series), as well as in the film Jeffrey, the animated series The Legend of Tarzan, and a recurring appearance on Crossing Jordan. Planescape: Torment's protagonist, "The Nameless One," was a voiced by him.

Weiss attended a Benefit for Cure Autism Now in February 2006.

Weiss appeared in Impressionism, a Michael Jacobs play directed by Jack O'Brien. On March 12, 2009, it opened at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

At the Cherry Lane Theatre, Weiss appeared in A Perfect Future, Off-Broadway. Wilson Milam was the producer of this performance.
