Michael Brandon (born Michael Feldman; 1945) is an American actor.

He is best known for his role as James Dempsey in the British drama series Dempsey and Makepeace (1985–86).

The original Broadway revival of Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie? Jerry Springer, 1969, appearing in Jerry Springer's West End performance: The Opera (1993–04).

Early life

Michael Feldman was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Miriam (née Tumen) and Sol Feldman. He and his family (brother Elliot and sister Debra Lynne) moved to Valley Stream, New York, where he attended Memorial Junior High School and graduated from Valley Stream Central High School at the age of nine. Brandon attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and made his debut on Broadway before moving to cinema. He is of Jewish descent.

Personal life

Brandon was in a 1970s friendship with actress Kim Novak. Brandon was married to actress Lindsay Wagner from 1976 to 1979. He has been married to actress Glynis Barber, with whom he co-starred in Dempsey & Makepeace since 1989. They are still in the United Kingdom. Alex, the couple's son.

Brandon appeared in the television series Dempsey, Makepeace, and Dinotopia. Quattro mosche di velluto grigio (1971), F.M. He appeared on Thomas & Friends from 2003 to 2012. He began his talk radio show on City Talk, a new local radio station in Liverpool, in February 2008. He appeared in the BBC's Doctor Who's Doctor Who finale in 2008 as General Sanchez, a UNIT officer. Roger Frampton, an American millionaire, appeared on the television show Bones in 2008 as a billionaire.

Brandon appeared in an episode of the BBC1 con drama Hustle as Marcus Wendell in 2011 (series 7, episode 3). He appeared in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 as a financier who befriends the titular character. He appeared on the ITV dancing show Stepping Out with wife Glynis Barber in September 2013. He co-created Off Ramps, his autobiographical stand-up comedy that premiered at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with producer/director Guy Masterson. On BBC1, he appeared in 2022 in an episode of Casualty.
