John Doman Life

John Doman (born January 9, 1945) is an American actor best known for his appearances on HBO's The Wire from 2002 to 2008, including Colonel Edward Galson in 2001, Rodrigo Borgia's international television series Borgia, and Don Carmine Falcone in Fox's hit comedy Gotham in 2014.

Early life and education

Doman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and he is an alumnus of Northeast Catholic High School. Doman graduated from North in 1962 as an All-Catholic League football player and member of the school's Hall of Fame. In 1966, he received his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a three-year letterman and starting defensive back with the Quakers football team from 1963 to 1965 during his time at Penn. In 1972, he obtained his Master of Business Administration degree in marketing from Pennsylvania State University.

Doman served with the United States Marine Corps in several capacities, beginning with his enrollment in the Officer Candidates School at Quantico, Virginia. In March 1967, he was sent as a Second Lieutenant and served with the 3rd Marine Division in the Vietnam War.

Following graduation, he spent almost two decades in advertising, beginning with SSC&B Advertising and Norman Craig & Kummel. When TBWA New York debuted in 1977, he was one of the first six employees. Doman spent 14 years with TBWA as Executive Vice President, Head of Business Development, and primarily responsible for a new-business strategy that culminated in an Agency of the Year award from Adweek in 1990. When he was cast in a commercial for AT&T in 1991, Doman changed from an advertising executive to a full-time actor.

Acting career

Doman has appeared in Cop Land and Mystic River as a doper. He appeared in The Opponent, Die Hard with a Vengeance, and Blue Valentine. He appeared in the third installment of the action-film series Sniper in 2004. On Seasons 5 and 6, Dr. Carl Deraad's guest star, as well as bad-guy CEO Walter Kendrick on Season 2 of Damages. Don Morello appeared in the game Mafia: City of Lost Heaven; Caesar in the videogame Fallout New Vegas; Michelin tires and Home Depot advertisements. He began narrating videos for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013.

Doman has played several characters in many episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit during his career. He appeared in Law & Order: Jury's Hearing and in Criminal Intent: Criminal Intent. He has appeared in total 11 different characters in the Law & Order series.

Doman appeared in three episodes of Rizzoli & Isles from 2010 to 2011. He was a mob enforcer. This reunited him with Sasha Alexander, who had previously appeared in the NCIS Season 2 "Doppelganger" where Doman appeared as Lt. Cheney, the head of local civilian law enforcement. In 2011, Rodrigo Borgia appeared in director Pieter Gaspersz's AFTER film opposite Kathleen Quinlan, and in the Borgia series.
