Linda Scott Life

Linda Scott (born Linda Joy Sampson; 1960-1977) is an American pop singer and actress who appeared from the late 1950s to the early 1970s.

"I've Told Every Little Star," her first hit was in 1961.

She went on to place twelve songs on the charts over the next four years, the most popular of which being "Who's Been Sleeping In My Bed" was inspired by Hal David and Burt Bacharach's film and writing.

In 1962, she appeared in the musical film Don't Knock the Twist as a fictionalized version of herself.

Personal life

According to an interview with Scott, she served in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and earned a degree in Theology from Kingsway Christian College and Theological Seminary in Des Moines, Iowa. During her time in the Army, she met and married a fellow serviceman. In 1973, the couple had only one child and ended in divorce. She later taught music at the Christian Academy in New York City.

Linda Scott's compilation CD, The Complete Hits of Linda Scott, was released by Eric Records in 1995; although her recording of "I've Told Every Little Star" was included in director David Lynch's film Mulholland Drive.

Politically correct reason City of Sydney Council quickly backed down on a decision to name a new Rosebery public park after Licorice Allsorts

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 13, 2024
A council has scrapped plans to name a new park (left) after Licorice Allsorts lollies (inset) due to concerns the branding would be 'racially offensive'. The City of Sydney was planning to call the new amenity on Rothschild Ave in the inner city of suburb of Rosebery Allsorts Park in recognition of the confectionery factory that had occupied the site but the idea was met with substantial opposition. Local greens councillor Sylvie Ellsmore (right) said the name was inappropriate as it had been used as an historical slur.

After investing a lot on Voice Yes campaigns, Australian councils were urged to refund ratepayers

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 17, 2023
Local councils who used rates to promote the Indigenous Voice to Parliament told Parliament they were "way out of their lane" and should return some of the money back in cuts. On Monday, Sydney 2GB afternoon drive host Chris O'Keefe weighed in on the millions spent by councils around Australia to condemn the Yes vote, saying they had overstepped the boundaries and should instead focus on "rates, roads, and garbage." He cited examples of councils lavishing money on the Yes campaign but losing touch with their constituents who in some circumstances voted No. ..

The referendum in Merri-Bek City supports Indigenous People: The Melbourne council has decided to save more than $20,000 for the Yes campaign

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 10, 2023
The Merri-Bek City Council of Melbourne (Mayor Angelica Panopoulos left) has set aside $22,000 to host forums, give grants, and display advertising material in support of the Voice. The Merri-Bek City council recently voted to accept the proposal, but Councillor Oscar Yildiz (right), one of two people to oppose the proposal, believes it's a "disgrace." During an appearance on 3AW's Mornings with Neil Mitchell on Thursday, Cr Yildiz said the whole thing is a waste of money.
