Linda Iris Newbery (born 12 August 1952) is a British writer best known for young adult fiction, although she has widened her reach to include all ages. * She wrote her first book Run with the Hare in 1988 while still teaching in a comprehensive college. * Catcall, a 2006 book by the author of Catcall, received the Nestlé Children's Book Prize Silver Award. Newbery is a regular tutor for the Arvon Foundation and a member of the Society of Authors and the Scattered Authors' Society.
